Live in the mix! Happy to introduce the new Live @ Flight Mode mix series - recordings pulled straight from the vaults and delivered directly to your ears, raw and uncut. Kicking off with a ⚡️dazzling duo of daddies⚡️- DJ City and La Schmock. Two seasoned veterans - DJs, producers, organisers - whose individual brilliance is matched only by the electricity they generate together. They brought that alchemy to Renate’s red room for the October 2024 Flight Mode full-club takeover, and the tapes don’t lie. Expect raw, pulsating house, mind-melting acid and electro, and some italo-disco sprinkled for extra fun. DJ City came up as a resident at Cocktail d’Amore and never really left — now splitting time between Berlin and Stockholm with residencies at Paloma Bar and Radio 80000, and releases on Public Possession, Permanent Vacation and Uncanny Valley. La Schmock is a Berlin fixture — Gegen stalwart, resident of the much-loved now-defunct Lunchbox Candy, with recent releases on Italo Moderni and Klub Kid Records turning heads. Together they co-founded Bad Dad, Berlin’s queer night initially hosted at the legendary Zur Klappe, now onto a new home. Bad Dad is hosting a Father’s Day takeover at the Renate Garden this Thursday, May 14th - be sure not to miss!

Sanaz b2b Vio PRG Tehran-born, Berlin-based Sanaz is a resident of Club Heart Broken, where she channels pure emotion into motion. Deeply rooted in house music in all its forms, her sets move fluidly between fast and slow, classic and contemporary, always guided by rhythm and feeling. She weaves different shades of house into seamless narratives, balancing drive with warmth and keeping the dancefloor connected through groove, energy, and soul. As part of THF Community Radio, Sanaz hosts her monthly show Spectrum, a space that refuses to stay within one genre, allowing her to showcase the full spectrum of her musical taste. Vio PRG moves between genres on instinct, guided less by rules and more by timing, intuition, and the energy of the moment. As Flight Mode curator, she shapes each floor with care, bringing together artists whose selections and styles intertwine naturally, giving each room its own arc, keeping the whole night in sync, and sparking spaces that feel warm, and easy to lose yourself in. Ola Teks moves through the Polish scene as both a DJ and promoter, with residencies at Jasna 1 in Warsaw and Ulica Elektryków in Gdańsk. Her sets sit somewhere between deep techno and classic house—controlled, but never static—always tuned to the room rather than forcing it. Since 2015, she’s been behind Move Mózg, a series that folds visual art into the night without it feeling like an afterthought. That same attention to detail carries into her DJing: selections feel considered, but still instinctive. There’s a clear thread in how she blends analog textures with more modern edges, building sets that unfold rather than peak too early. Support from platforms like Boiler Room, Arte Concert, Mixmag, and Radiant Records tracks—but doesn’t define—what she does. Since 2011, Yuzo Iwata has been organizing the FLOPPY event series at Precious Hall in Sapporo. He relocated to Berlin in 2016, where he has continued to expand his activities as a DJ and producer. In 2018, he released his first EP Kiteki on the Berlin-based label Pluie/Noir, followed in 2022 by his debut album Kaizu on Butter Sessions, the Melbourne label run by Sleep D. In 2026, he contributed the track “Yukimushi” to Butter Sessions’ 15th anniversary compilation, marking his first new release in three years and eight months. Alongside his work at the record shop Sound Metaphors, Yuzo constantly digs through a wide spectrum of music, both new and old, continuously refining and updating his own style. In Berlin, he has played extensively at key venues such as Panorama Bar and Säule at Berghain, Globus at Tresor, Ohm, and Club der Visionaere. Rooted in psychedelic sensibilities and house music, his club sets are defined by playfulness and surprise, spreading love to dance floors around the world. Somme Farris is a DJ, event curator, and multidisciplinary artist based in Berlin. Drawing from his Syrian and Iraqi heritage, Somme’s sound encapsulates the culmination of 11 years of collecting, playing, and exploring sound, emphasizing Middle Eastern sounds and rhythms in modern electronic music. This journey has defined Somme’s sound, known for his textural, percussive, raw groove sets. He founded Phact, a sound system-centered rave that aims to create a space free from regulations, overstimulation, and the commercial approach of many typical clubs. He also co-founded Alef Sound, a small business dedicated to designing, building, and renting out sound systems to support and improve sound across London and Berlin. A recent addition to his work is Rama, a club night aimed at reviving NYC house music. Whether behind the decks, hosting parties, or working behind the scenes, each thread of his artistic practice feeds into the others, bringing authenticity and raw passion to his work—connecting the rave experience to its most innate, sensual, and compassionate forms. Our next guest is Carlo❣️ Over the years, he has solidified his position as a connoisseur of all things House, a versatile DJ, producer, and astute professional both in and out of the studio. His indelible mark on the Berlin music scene is evident through performances at iconic venues across the city, a seven year curation of Aterral events at Watergate, and releases on esteemed labels such as Classic Music Company and Shall Not Fade. Additionally, he manages his own imprint, Aterral. Currently, Carlo holds a residency at StudioClub in his hometown of Málaga. His musical journey has spanned the globe, with performances from Japan to Canada and Mexico. These experiences, combined with his passion for discovering new music, have culminated in the unique sound of his sets. We asked Carlo to spotlight 3 of his favorite records so far: Carlo - Azizi This was one of the first vinyl releases I put out on my own, and it holds a very special place in my heart. I even handed a copy to Moodymann when he came to Berlin, and he played it at a summer festival in Amsterdam. Session Victim also played this one a lot and this is I got to know them. Baloo & Carlo - Vera After a few years of making music with Baloo, I’ve got to say we really hit the mark with this one. It’s the perfect blend of our two musical visions.
