Australian Finalists Kirstie Rea and Liam Fleming in Singapore for the announcement of the 2026 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize last night at @nationalgallerysingapore@loewefoundation@reakirstie@fleming_liam
Winning work was by South Korean ceramicist Jongjin Park with a piece constructed from folded and stacked paper dipped in slips. @jongjinpark_ceramics
His ceramic work "Strata of Illusion" has a "sculptural presence that is at once unexpected and thoughtful", said the jury, adding that his technique employs multiple craft traditions, folding and layering paper coated in coloured slips.
The piece has a beautiful energy, while offering intrigue. Jongjin's work was selected from 30 Finalists drawn from over 5100 entries. Australian artist and former LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize Finalist @scottchaseling was among the international expert selection panel. The €50,000 Prize is recognised as the most celebrated nod to contemporary craft in our times elevating long held making traditions.
The Finalists Exhibition is on show from 13 May until 14 June.

Introducing Liam Fleming… one of our new artists showing at Design Miami 2025.
Australian glass artist, @fleming_liam creates playful stacks of colourful, tactile glass cubes. Constructed through mould-making, blowing and setting them in the kiln to slump, he captures a sense of jeopardy in his works of art.
If you’re heading to Design Miami @designmiami this week find his work at our Booth G23.

Liam Fleming's sculptural glass works are characterised by a distinctive geometric purity and embody a sense of restraint and refinement, aligning his artistic practice with minimalism and its associated transcendental qualities.
As a Ramsay Art Prize 2025 finalist, Fleming notes that, following years of production glassblowing and training, he ‘finds redeeming qualities in [his] practice through the process of letting go. [He] … performs and sublimates his technical approach in the service of a vision that animates the essential enigma of [his] chosen medium and of life itself’.
