To the little girl who used to write books in her bedroom, who wanted to become an artist one day, you did write and illustrate a real book when you grew up.
To all the people who believed in me through the years, to my husband and his unrelenting support and forever listening to all my ideas, to our children, may you not lose hope of your dreams and may your imagination never leave you.
To my sister, who has always been my number 1 fan. To my dad who always encouraged me (he is based on a character in the book - Mr Ribbit but the way)… thankyou! And lastly to my mother, who we lost 3 years ago - I did it mum, I wrote the book!
And to our wonderful community - thankyou. Thankyou for encouraging me to bring this book to life, it’s been over 2 years, many times wondering whether I should publish it, but somehow knowing I had to complete it. I would not have published it if it wasn’t for you.

A little dancing, a teddy bear dress, and the sort of moment you wish you could press between the pages and keep forever.
This is always what we hoped Fledge and Thread would feel like. Pieces made for little ones to really be little in. To dance in, play in, and create their own small magic.

We’ve had a new employee start in the studio… his name is Franklin 🪿
He’s a little unusual, very gentle, very committed, and quite possibly the slowest order packer we’ve ever had. In his defence, he does have very short legs.
He takes his role seriously though. Every parcel is packed with great care, a little waddling, and an almost unnecessary amount of soul.
The only issue is he’s also been slipping the occasional strange note into customer orders, which is not exactly standard procedure.
Unclear where he learned this behaviour.�Unclear if he can be managed.
Should we keep him on? 🤣🤎✨

This is one of our favourite parts of the process, seeing something once imagined so quietly become something real.

Fledge and Thread started because I couldn’t find what I was looking for for our children when they were little. I was searching for products with character, with story, and with the kind of feeling childhood should hold, something gentle, imaginative and truly made for little ones, not for adults.
So I began to paint them.
What started late at night, in the quiet hours while still feeding our little girl, has grown into something I could never have imagined back then. And now, seeing a nursery like this, layered with Fledge and Thread, feels very special. A small reminder of why I started in the first place.
