A closer look at our transformative journey this past year 👀 🔍
In August 2022, our incredible real estate agent @ramonrealty guided us through various units at 1110 Finch Ave West, leading us to the Studio we proudly call ours today. By October 2022, we officially received the keys and embarked on our renovation adventure immediately.
Embracing the highs and lows of our journey 🌟🛠️
• Evacuated on day one due to an unexpected fire incident 😅 🚒
• Opted for DIY carpet removals over expensive floor quotes
• Applied four coats of white stainless paint for a fresh start
• Built EVERYTHING ourselves with the unwavering support of loved ones
• Simultaneously applied for grants and led programming
And so much more – a testament to the power of what women and non-binary youth can achieve when invested in. It’s taken us a year to afford all the furniture, equipment, and materials, but we’re happy to finally launch and begin fully testing this model with our community.
— New here? Our grassroots artist collective called @flauntitmovement designed one of the first 2SLGBTQ+ BIPOC-only creative coworking spaces. We aim to provide inclusive, safe workspaces for women and non-binary artists, activists, and entrepreneurs to thrive. With photo/video studios inaccessible in Northwest Toronto and coworking spaces unaffordable, we crafted a model that invests in our residents’ endeavours. ✊🏿🏳️🌈
— The Studio was specifically designed for residents of the Jane-Finch area and its neighbouring communities. Low-income residents can complete a short eligibility form to access discounts. DM us to learn more! 💗

⭐️ This opportunity is open to artists who are excited to contribute to a community-centred creative environment and whose work aligns with Flaunt-It’s values, themes, and brand colours.
⭐️ Selected artists will design and paint a mural that transforms one of our studio doors into a vibrant, welcoming statement piece that reflects creativity, empowerment, and community.
⭐️ WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE (if selected):
➡️ An honourarium (up to $300; may be increased)
➡️ Studio gift card/membership to use our studio for free!
➡️ All painting supplies will be provided

⭐️ Join us for a guided songwriting workshop with @kibramusic , where we’ll explore lyrics, melody, and storytelling in a supportive, creative space.
✍🏽 The session supports participants in moving through creative blocks, self-doubt, and the pressure to “get it right,” offering practical tools for starting songs without waiting for inspiration to spark.
👩🏾🏫 The workshop concludes with participant sharing and an open Q&A, creating space for reflection, feedback, and questions about creative process, collaboration, and navigating an artistic practice.

Last Friday, our studio was filled with the holiday spirit for our DIY Holiday Crafts Workshop. From decorating jewelry boxes to creating picture frames, participants had the chance to slow down, get creative, and make meaningful gifts for the season. 🎁✂️
Facilitated by Amy (@occasionallyprints ), the workshop offered a welcoming space to explore hands-on crafting. It was so special to see everyone leave with something made from the heart. 💛
