Brecht Debackereโs ๐๐ฐ๐ด๐ต๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ช๐ข ๐ง๐ฐ๐ณ ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ ๐๐ถ๐ต๐ถ๐ณ๐ฆ has been selected in the โDocumentaries about Cinemaโ category. The film is based on the life and work of Chris Marker (1921โ2012), reflecting on memory, history, nostalgia, and how images from the past shape our future. It explores Markerโs vast archive and asks: can we truly get to know someone through their work and the traces they leave behind?

In this short animated film, we follow a young woman with untameable hair as she walks down the street, clutching a mysterious bouquet of flowers. Where did they come from, and who are they from? What do they mean? Are they a gift, an apology, or a sign of unwanted attention?
