WE FKN DID IT! Our little indie film is officially in CINEMAS! There were years of stress, doubt, tears… and moments where it felt impossible. But somehow, we made it here (in cinemas). I’ve always wanted to tell stories about real messy, flawed, funny people that are heartbreaking all at once. The kind of characters that challenge you… but you can’t help loving them anyway. So, 10 years later… let me introduce Southerly Southerly follows Ada, a young, impulsive musician who escapes Melbourne’s 2020 lockdown to a remote coastal property in rural NSW. There, Ada meets Josh, a washed-up musician, and convinces him to help her record. What starts as collaboration turns into something deeper, forcing them to confront themselves, each other, and the possibility of real change. We did it!!! We’re incredibly excited to say that Southerly is complete (at least at our end!) The last few months with the @flagpostproduction team have been full of late nights making sound mixes, colour grading, VFX and all the many arduous efforts that bring a film to life. So just want to give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported the film along the way. Our cast and crew, collaborators, supporters, and everyone who believed in making Southerly happen! I am pleased to share my latest film project, The International, created for Landream and V-Leader. Over the past year, I have been inspired by the work of Kiku Ohe, @parker.schmidt , and @jacqalen . @alexandernaughton and @alexisgomez , which encouraged me to explore new ways of expressing architecture on screen. My aim was to borrow from the commercial world and anchor the visuals to a clear thread. In this case, it was a poem, Whispers of the Bay. An approach that invited the architecture to be felt, not just seen, like living poetry. If this resonates, I welcome future conversations.
