We seized this beautiful window of sunshine to progress with our very own 99p original documentary - Trevone - and have a bit of fun whilst we were at it!
@danmcka.y & @adam_radage from SOUP filmed some more underwater and nature shots of the incredible and biodiverse wildlife
@dan__pak has started to take sound recordings for the films score along with playing with a bit of super 8 kit
@fishovic will be spending this next week of rainy weather going through hours of recorded footage continuing the process of stitching together this incredible story puzzle…
It’s coming together everyone!

We had a great team workshop day at @rootspress last week and this is what we created!
The poster for our January screenings, with customisable features in our unique Pink & Purple Riso design!
We’ll be showcasing the latest 2 @cornwallclimatecare films back to back with a dicussion inbetween and afterwards. Featuring, ‘#Climatescam ?’ and ‘Power to the people’ which explores solutions in the green energy movement and how it will provide jobs and raise the social standard of living, especially for people here in Cornwall!
Giving us energy security and reducing the greed for fossil fuels and the wars it causes.
It was great to work with Amy from Roots Press on this, with lots of other cool and exciting projects coming up :D
Ps, if you find an out of date poster please feel free to hang it up on your wall or stick it in your compost heap. Our riso posters are both beautiful and 100% biodegradable (made using recycled paper and vegetable based inks)

NEW MEMBER: Meet the latest addition to the Film Hub South West membership: @99pfilms
At 99p Films, the team bring people together through the power of documentary cinema, creating awareness around social and environmental stories that engage, inspire and connect our communities.
They do this using their signature ‘Social Cinema’ formula of: Breathe, Watch, Discuss, Eat – incorporating mindful breathing at the start, audience-led discussions and a communal feast where people eat part of the solution.
Visit their website (/) to check out their upcoming events including Fungi: Web of Life at @princesspavilionofficial , St Ives on 14 November!
This incredible documentary featuring Merlin Sheldrake and narrated by Bjork will illuminate how this fascinating kingdom may offer solutions to some of our biggest issues.

We’ve all got a lot of questions during these financially stressful times…
How do we find the money to lift people out of poverty?
How do we find the money to restore biodiversity and the climate crisis?
How do we find the money to invest in our social foundations, from health care to education?
Our UK premier screening of @findingmoneyfilm part of the @cornwallfilm festival will introduce you to the concept of “Modern Monetary Theory” referred to as MMT.
An alternative economic model that will transform your view on currency, the term “debt” and other preconceptions around economic models…
We’re not going to try and describe it now but we’ll have experts in the room including Cornwall Councillor and current MMT student Tamsyn Widdon on the night followed with a zoom Q&A with Director Maren Poitras to answer any questions and talking points that arise during our audience led discussion
This will be the last chance to experience our signature social cinema screening at the @princesspavilionofficial before an Xmas break and a Princess Pav refurbishment in January. So get your tickets now before they sell out!
Our community ticket starts at 99p for those in financial hardship and follow a sliding scale model dependent on your financial situation. Allowing all to be involved in the discussion and dissolving the echo chambers we so often find ourselves in.
And, as always our vegan feast will be sourced entirely from the @falmouthfoodcoop and all their local suppliers including Loveland, @soul.farm and others
See you there!

A group of artisans transform the derelict site of an abandoned quarry, forming a creative community that offers an innovative and holistic model. Developing sustainable and affordable workshops and living spaces all whilst addressing the climate emergency through low impact lifestyles and wildlife regeneration.
Despite purchasing the land in 2009, they are currently facing eviction from the council due to current planning permission legislation.
They have submitted an appeal and are awaiting a decision.
