“It is possible to create a world where energy is sustainable and everyone has access to it. I find it fascinating that old stories from many cultures are still incredibly relevant in today’s society—such as tales of animals or people taking the sun from the ‘gods’ to give it to humanity. Today, we must take the power grid back from those who capitalize on energy. No one should have to pay just to keep their home running, or risk having their power turned off. We should also be able to power our communities in a way that doesn’t destroy our home—the Earth.”

It was a beautiful day printing with students. Screen printing isn't just a form of production but a community based craft. Very proud of the young people wanting to learn what truth and Reconciliation is about.
The stickers just came in too. I won't be selling these but if ya catch me in real life, I got some! :)
The sticker format is of a young girl dancing in orange for the ancestors, for the animals, for the water, for the children of Palestine, children of the Congo, children passing on from genocide, and for the children of tomorrow.

I had the pleasure in collaborating with the St. Lawrence College 's Waasaabiidaasamose Indigenous Centre for Truth and Reconciliation Day.
For us, it's not just a day but an ongoing effort of holding colonial institutions historically accountable and committing to a just future for all.
When we say every child matters, it doesn't just mean the children of our ancestors and those of today but also the children of tomorrow.
How can our children matter when the rivers and land that we sustain our communities from are sick and toxic? We must not only commit to addressing and healing from generational trauma and grief, but we must also collectively move forward to protect the future.
Every child, every river deserves safety. Every step we take must be a step forward towards sustainability. Every action towards tomorrow matters.
This illustration is the story of three youths dancing for the ancestors, the river, and the lands. A youth dances in her regular clothes to show that you are always enough to embrace your culture. She holds olive branches as she dances for the children of Palestine and for her Tota who survived the residential schools for her to be here today.
The St. Lawrence reflects orange from the sunset in honor of the young lives gone from colonization. Surrounding the youth are the fish that call the St. Lawrence home and call to us for rive justice and ensure nothing more but a clean and healthy river.
Coloring page on linktree on my bio. (:

Oh jeez! Was Rock the Block community party in Akwesasne amazing or what!?
We had the honor of hosting the incredible Indigenous pop star @thebabyaunty and followed by the GOAT @travisxthompson
Our girlies and cuties were truly musically blessed by Semiah.
I had to make a fan poster as her music has carried so much of my late night Rez Dayze journey.
Her music is what I wished for as a kid and now I get to watch my daughter and her friends grow up to her music.
Much love to her band mates for @yakorennio@roblamothe bringing magic to Akwesasne. ❤️❤️❤️

The PSL enjoyed the beautiful sunny Saturday tabling at the Akwesasne Art Market. We provided visitors to our booth with coloring pages and colored pencils donated by @fishbearstudios , along with revolutionary zines.
We also invited attendees to participate in our community art piece that asked: “How can we weave a brighter future for the next 7 generations?” We know that we need to deconstruct the colonial systems that oppress us, but we must also take the time to imagine the world we want to build together. Responses included “Land Back, Free Palestine” and “speak truth to power and remember our connection to all living things.” Thanks to everyone who helped create this beautiful and cohesive statement of our dreams and demands.
We also raised $167 US in donations to support humanitarian aid efforts in Gaza. The people of Akwesasne and the North Country understand that our liberation is linked to the liberation of Palestine and we thank you for your donations!
Reflections of us is a community based archival project of present day akwesasronon in our own pictures. We have 2 polaroid cameras that we will loan out to the public to document anything. Have a favorite tree? Wanna share your cat? What makes you, you? We will be publishing online every participants adventure and completed collage for the community. Let us know if you'd like to be added to the list and we'd be glad to schedule a time for the cameras.
Special niawen to @korlcc_arts_archives for showing fellow artist the possibilities in this world.

Ahh! Hello everyone! I’ve been off of social media for a minute as I use this summer season to complete some beautiful projects for some amazing warrior women. I am excited and honored to share with you one of these projects with you today with @savecaliforniasalmon and as a grantee of the @upstatecaliforniacreativecorps
It is not only my birthday, but it is also @santafeindianmarket weekend, and the @yuroktribe ‘s 60th Annual Salmon Festival! A beautiful weekend of Indigenous arts and celebration!
This illustration titled, “The Klamath: 1855 to 2002” is a historic look along the Klamath River and her people. From the California Goldrush that brought in many settlers to the lumber industry that violently felled our ancestral ancient redwood forests to the 1970s salmon war and the important Supreme Court case Mattz v. Arnett 1973, to the 2002 salmon fishkill, the Klamath has remained since time immemorial.
Wok'hlew to all of the ancestors and relatives who fought for our right to exist and for our salmon.
Will make a formal post when this poster series is available in print. <3

This illustration titled, “The Klamath Takes the Landback” is a celebratory poster of land justice on the Klamath. Rather than lady justice with her scale, the Klamath embodied as a fisher woman walks forth with her two large salmon as the river flows free as the dams come down. The top of her head represents the dam removal sites with her hair flowing downstream freely into the mouth of the Klamath and into the ocean. Celebrating with this river maiden is the eagle and our returning relative, the California condor.
Wok'hlew to everyone who fought for our river to be free and for our relatives to come home.
Will make a formal post when this poster series is available in print. <3
