The Church’s (@thechurchsagharbor ) summer exhibition ‘The Ark’, curated by Eric Fischl (@fischlstudio ), gathers over 40 animal sculptures. Inspired by the myth of the Great Flood, the show reflects on humanity’s bond with animals, nature, and the self—where beauty, empathy, vulnerability, and tenderness emerge in handmade works that mirror both the wild and the interior world.
From Daniel Firman’s (@daniel_firman_studio ) awe-striking elephant to Charles Ray’s luminous Silver dog and the embrace of Bourgeois’s Double Spider—on view for the first time at an East End arts institution—the exhibition transforms The Church into a shared domain between viewer and creature. The Ark invites visitors to gather, wonder, and reconnect. On view through Labor Day weekend in Sag Harbor.
