The Hillside project is living up to its name.
With its stepped levels and bold layout, it’s got a real Aztec feel to it. This one has definitely been a bit of a head scratcher along the way, but that’s what makes it interesting.
Huge credit to the lads on the groundworks, they’ve done a cracking job shaping this out on a tricky site.
The timber frame has taken a lot of careful design by our sister company, @broadaxetimberframes , and the kit is now in production.@croftdesigncollective

Exciting times on this building project! This new timber frame structure is taking shape right beside the old farmhouse, blending modern design with the character of this beautiful landscape.
To protect the ground and avoid using concrete, we’ve used ground screws as the foundation, supporting a suspended insulated timber floor that will keep the space warm, efficient, and environmentally friendly.
Surrounded by rolling fields and autumn colours, it’s amazing to see this project come to life in such a peaceful setting. More updates soon as we move to the next stage! 🛠️🏡✨

Today is providing the perfect conditions for the concrete pour at NMITE Centre for Innovation and Future Skills. With a dry forecast over the next few days the curing and drying process should be smooth sailing.
Beneath the concrete the Isoquick insulated foundation system reduces thermal bridging, the steel reinforcement provides tensile strength to the raft foundation. The formwork running around the perimeter of the slab shows the route for the MVHR system.

Something different to show off this week. We’ve been going back to our roots with a period architectural restoration of The Knighton Hotel. The majority of the front facade was rotten and about to fall down, so we’ve propped the roof up from the pavement and dismantled it bit by bit ready to be repaired and go back together like a big jigsaw 🧩
