Christmas On Duty! This one hits in a really big way. @camden.simmons did something for me that I will never forget. She made me a part of a movie that was already such a part of me. @janelparrish & @parker.young couldn’t have pulled this off any better. @jakevanwagoner was incredibly patient with my endless nagging of detail, the rest of the Cast & Crew were A+. Thanks to @davidwulf !@fly_likeasiegel wrote something we haven’t seen b4! So many amazing friends made the trip to visit and be a part of this in a way I’ll never forget. If you wonder what semper fidelis means, you can see it where everyone I asked to come, showed up. Too many people to tag and list, but I can’t thank you enough. (Especially Nick who let us throw cake at him for an hour). Lastly… this was Shayde’s last movie. His last day on set and he was completely smothered with love (by @janelparrish ) 👏🏻❤️ @hallmarkchannel #usmc #fox2/11

Shayde Shadow Murphy - 11/24/11 - 8/2/25
My greatest peace and most beautiful distraction. More than a friend or companion, but true partner on this path of life. By my side or at my feet for so many years now, I can’t recognize myself without you. Over 100 flights, countless road trips, 5 countries, 20+ movie sets, and the only true witness to the adventures and love stories along the way. Merrill found him for me in a way only she could. We were still heartbroken over Maddie, but she saw the connection we had and knew we needed each other. The shelter told us he was a bad dog and only had a day or two left. That was 12 years ago and he’s proven them very wrong. He’s made so many friends in so many places, yet Luna was the only dog he loved. A broken heart now would only undo all the hard work he’s done these past 10 years holding it together. There is grief, but only for my own selfish reasons. Shayde lived a long and full life, surrounded by love, enabled by Airport lounges, movie trailers, his own passport, and the people in our lives who understood we’re a package deal. Mostly sheep dog, with a herding mentality, but just enough Rottweiler to hold his ground. What makes me most happy is watching the small locks of his fur we’ve left behind. Tiny pieces of him like dandelion seeds scattering across the globe. You have defined my definition of unconditional love. You have given me everything and your memory will forever be the stitches that hold together the fabric of my soul. It’s a cool and quiet after noon and I’m able to hold you in my arms by your mother’s apple tree you’ll be at peace forever. I love you my sweet boy.
