Door manners are not just polite, they can be life saving.
A dog that waits at an open door is less likely to bolt, get lost, rush guests, or jump all over you when you get home.
Quick steps to train it 1. Leash your dog and approach the door 2. Ask for a sit and slowly crack it open 3. Close it if they move forward 4. Reward calm waiting, then release with a word like “okay” 5. Repeat until the open door means wait, not run
