Year 3 had a wonderful time @kewgardens exploring the rainforest habitat in the world-famous Palm House, sketching lots of exotic plants and zooming down the slides in the Children's Garden.
Eco Council spent a beautiful, sun-drenched morning in the park, with the Friends of Wandsworth Common. They were spotting, feeding and learning all about our local birdlife and, crucially, how to care for them. We look forward to hearing all about it, in an assembly soon!
Year 6 had fantastic news this week - all their poems submitted for a Young Writers competition have been chosen for publication in an anthology (which will stay in the National Archives of the British Library for ever!). The competition theme was 'I have a dream' and Year 6 wrote beautiful poems about climate change and what they hope the world will do about it.... no wonder they were all selected!
What a fabulous way to round off our trip: spending time in nature and learning to identify insects, trees and even potential cooking ingredients! Our time @rootdadventure has come to an end but what a wonderful time it's been.
Year 4 have really developed their confidence this week @rootdadventure and the crate stacking challenge and archery were two of the fun opportunities they had to do so.
