It should surprise no one that we care deeply about place — both in the specific, places that we love, and place as a concept, a feeling. Today we were thrilled to host @fineobjectssociety at @andalusiapa , a place that, for us, bridges historicity and family. What better way to celebrate, then, than with a toast in a way true to the Biddle line — a sabered bottle of champagne, a chip piled high with caviar, and a walk in the garden.

Members, join us for sunset mixer at one of New York’s most exciting venues for contemporary art! Our next Member Mixer will be on Tuesday, November 11: an inspiring evening celebrating art, community, and creativity at @nyccultureclub , a dynamic nonprofit arts organization dedicated to supporting emerging artists and curators. Founded by brothers Parker and Clayton Calvert, NYC Culture Club serves as a gallery and platform for creative connection, offering exhibition space, career development opportunities, and a welcoming environment for a wide range of creative voices. The Calverts emphasize showcasing underrepresented perspectives and creating organic opportunities for discovery, believing that art should be valued for its expression—not its marketability. As a member of Fine Objects Society, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the Culture Club’s current exhibition, connect with Clayton to learn more about the organization’s vision, and raise a glass to celebrate creativity and community over commerce. Don’t miss this unforgettable night! RSVP at the link in our bio. #fineobjectssociety #fos #nyccultureclub

Object Story ✨️ From FOS member @teremokantiques : "A heavy brass casket in the form of a Gothic cathedral. The body is deeply cast with arched windows and buttressed columns. It is lined in green velvet with a velvet tray insert. A fanciful object that captures the 19th-century fascination with the Gothic Revival in architecture." As seen in our 2024 exhibition "Please Touch." #fineobjectssociety #fos #teremokantiques

A visit to Clermont (Germantown, NY) with the @fineobjectssociety on our Annual Members Retreat. Clermont State Historic Site was originally built between 1730 and 1750 as a Georgian-style country home for the Livingston family. It remained in the family for over 200 years, housing seven generations along with servants and enslaved people. In 1777, British soldiers burned it down, along with 24 other Livingston properties. The house was rebuilt in 1782. Over time, additions were made, and in the 1920s it was remodeled in the Colonial Revival style. Today, the historic house interiors reflect the 1930s, when Alice Delafield Clarkson Livingston lived there with her daughters, Honoria and Janet. #hudsonvalley #germantownny #fineobjectssociety #historichouse #architecture #objects #art #clermontstatehistoricsite
