Fine Art Documentation is seeking freelance retouchers with experience in editing photographic documentation of artworks and exhibitions.
With over a decade of experience working with galleries, art institutions, artists and publishers, we produce archival-quality photographic material for websites, social media, publications, print, and artwork reproduction.
We are looking for detail-focused, technically skilled and highly organised retouchers to work on images of exhibitions, installations, sculptures, paintings, prints and editions. We are looking for someone on a mid- to long-term basis, with the potential to develop an ongoing working relationship.
Applicants must be fluent in Photoshop and comfortable working with high-resolution TIFF files (300MB+). Familiarity with Capture One and Helicon Focus is a bonus. Key skills should include:
— Batch editing
— Colour balancing
— Spot removal
— Masking
— Compositing
— Focus stacking
This is a remote freelance role with seasonal workloads and tight deadlines. A fast broadband connection, personal computer (Apple M1 Pro or equivalent), and a colour-calibrated setup are essential.

Working closely with galleries, arts institutions, artists and publishers, we produce archival-quality photographic material for our clients' records, delivering assets for websites, social media, publications, print, artwork reproductions and beyond.
Employing a creative approach with technical expertise, we use medium-format digital camera systems combined with on-site studio lighting to achieve full-resolution images with a high level of clarity, colour accuracy and formal consistency. We are fluent in post-production techniques, and our workflow uses Capture One, Adobe Creative Suite and other software to ensure precise colour management and image processing.
