Yesterday while being interviewed at @textureonset , I was asked to describe the day in one word. Without hesitation, I said innovative.
Being even a small molecule of Naeemah’s journey—first as a student and then working beside her during fashion week—has shaped me into the artist I am today. It’s connected me with artists who’ve become so much more than colleagues — my hair family 🫶🏼
What happened yesterday was just a glimpse of her impact. This isn’t a hair show—it’s a movement. The way she brings light to conversations that have been overlooked for centuries is powerful, and now those conversations are finally taking center stage across major brands, editorials, and runways.
I’m so incredibly proud of her and everything she’s built. Yesterday was a reflection of how deeply she inspires everyone she touches. I have no doubt she will continue to kick down every door in her way, and what a pleasure it is to watch her do it.
Thank you @naeemahlafond for having me. It was an honor—and honestly, now my favorite day of the year !
And to my hair family—you mean everything to me. Being able to hug you all filled my heart in a way I can’t even put into words. You’re all incredible.
Can’t wait for next year 🖤 #textureonset
