What does ballet look like as a global art form? Bravo
@pacificnorthwestballet @jessicalangchoreographer on this incredible premiere. Almost one third of Seattle is Asian American, what a difference this will make for young Asian American students who dream of becoming dancers and belonging to this wonderful community #Repost

🍑Super excited for this very special World Premiere 🍑
This weekend Momotaro (The Peach Boy) opens
@pacificnorthwestballet for
@pnb_school
#Kanjisegawa and I are proud to contribute this world premiere storyballet made especially for children and families for PNB’s Family Matinee series. This Japanese tale is adapted by Kanji Segawa, my creative associate, and dramaturg for this show, and our collaborators include PNB’s own Meleta Buckstaff for costume Design
@meletabea Reed Nakayama for lighting design and soloist dancer
@yukitkhs as set design illustrator! This production features live music performed by Seattle’s own
@japan_creative_arts with Taiko youth performers from
@school_of_taiko led by Ringtaro Tateishi and Asako Tateishi, as well as PNB’s own Don Vollema, pianist. Narrated by
@walkerbrad our production of Momotaro is the perfect introduction to ballet for young audiences!
Thank you to
@petboal for giving us this opportunity to create an immersive cultural experience for the Seattle community. I love my job as Resident Choreographer
