Freddy Stone’s effortless almost conversational flow pairs perfectly with god.damn.chan’s immaculate ear for samples and heavy kits. Go Ask Alice comes in hot from the start with “$100 SHAPE-UPS”, a laid-back victory lap built on a dusty sample shimmering with piano & B3. Freddy’s verse sets it off with vignettes fans will recognize straight from his IG (RIP Carol🙏) before Estee Nack slides in with the waterfall flow and street stories he’s known for. “CAN’T LIE” showcases jazz-inflected production with meandering piano & upright bass while Freddy delivers a matter-of-fact reflection on how quick things can fall apart. Continuing on the jazzy tip, “THE GHETTO GAVEL” contrasts a breezy piano riff with growling, punchy synth bass, creating the perfect foundation for a trip into Freddy’s stream of consciousness before passing the baton to R.A.P.
