in 1993, Guru — one half of Gang Starr — released Jazzmatazz, Vol. 1.
hip hop and jazz had always been connected.sampling, influence, shared roots. but this was different. instead of looping records, Guru brought musicians into the studio —
artists from jazz and hip hop, playing together in real time. live instrumentation. steady bars. no rush. the result: something warmer, deeper, more intimate.

not loud. not forced. just presence.
a kind of #sexystuff that doesn’t try to be seen —
but always is.
jazzmatazz isn’t about invention.
it’s about connection. and while listening, all I want is to sit in a dim jazz bar, candlelight,, smoking a big ass joint, feeling iconic & calm — and let the music do the rest. :P
Before ‘streetwear’ became strategy, this was just how it looked. Loose fits, graphic tees (LOVE), hoodies that felt lived in — not styled.
Pulled from Breaking Bad (2008–2013), this aesthetic wasn’t built to trend. It came from character, environment, real life — New Mexico heat, suburban edges, everyday chaos.
Like a bass-loaded slow song, that swaggy sexy groove, these outfits carry real depth. Cool, easy, never forced but on point.
