Embarrassingly pleased to have written a book review for our shiny new paper (and to have pressed publish, too). Issue six, with four very beautiful covers, out today. As is Ali Smith’s brilliant new novel, Gliff, a poetic dystopia that’s bleak, hopeful and will make you want to throw your phone into the sea. I appreciate the irony. @evening.standard@dylanjones@elliotwagland@pedros1976
This is such a gorgeous book. A slim, masterfully carved gem of a story with the electric hum of a thriller. Really delighted to have reviewed Clear by Carys Davies for the Standard. Link in bio 😍
After (many) years behind the scenes at the @evening.standard it’s still an absolute thrill to see my byline in print - and The Glutton is a truly delicious book. Go order it! Oh and as the kids say… link in bio!
Thank you @nrcmoore and @hackneykitchen for the best birthday cake ever! Becky’s cakes are works of art and as delicious on the inside as they look on the outside. And she delivers!! 😍😍😍
Day #1 and #2 in the home-working Big Brother house. Aided and abetted by kittens (love Italian homework, weirded out by 6am Clipshare), flowers and getting hands in the mud (thank you @lancastersonline ), mini virtual news conference (thanks @elliotwagland ) and beer (with more planned from @prettydecentbc ). Must branch out from yoga leggings tomorrow.
First hint of a flower on my brave brave chilli plants, which have endured a Narnia winter on a first-floor windowsill, a house move and being planted too early, yet are somehow hanging in there. And an Aperol, to celebrate today's mini-summer
