What a year of incredible outdoor weddings 🙌🏻
We did beautiful, we did elegant, we did farming, we did colourful, we did pastels, we did sun, we did rain, we did pole marquees, stretch tents, clearspan, tipis…but most importantly we did unique and fun!
Our busiest summer to date, and worth the long hours and the love we poured into every wedding we planned, supported and managed. As always, we had such incredible, creative, collaborative couples and we are privileged and grateful to do what we do, being a part of such a special journey for so many. A heartfelt thanks to all of our couples who chose us to support their weddings this year 🤍
We worked with SO many amazing suppliers this year that I won’t be able to squeeze them all in, but send our appreciation thanks to each and every one.

Sometimes there’s so much joy at a wedding that it would be a total disservice for me not to share the full highlight film!
N & J said “I do” at their local church followed by a marquee reception right next to their beautiful home. It doesn’t get any more personal than this - and whilst we might have had a bit of a downpour that day it certainly didn’t dampen the mood ☀️

Since 2016 I’ve not only been planning fabulous outdoor weddings, but I owned and operated my own award winning venue, and subsequently worked with land owners to create, market and manage some of the most sought-after outdoor wedding venues in Bedfordshire. That’s on top of a corporate executive career that furnished me with the business, finance, project and supplier management skills that allow me to give you a top tier professional service. I know my stuff and I’m a safe pair of hands 🤲🏼
Serious business aside, my magic ingredients are humour, warmth, passion, energy and drive. I love to laugh and people are what makes me tick. I’ll put you at ease and make your planning journey exciting, fun, inclusive and easy! I’ll also nurture collaborative relationships with your wedding suppliers so we work like a slick, cohesive team, rather than a bunch of separate suppliers who turned up to work in a garden or field. The feedback I receive from couples and suppliers about how much they love working with us is what makes my heart sing 🫶🏻
Aside the wedding things, I’m obsessed with Italy and go every year. I love strong coffee and good wine in equal measure, Japanese food (especially sashimi 🍱) and I LIVE for Spring & Summer - long warm days anywhere outdoors, especially in my garden🪴

Is cow parsley alone a good enough reason to plan a May wedding?
🙋🏻♀️ I think so!
I know it grows on the verges, so some may turn their noses up at its wild or common nature, but it’s just so delicate & pretty, with such height and movement.
Living in a countryside village, it’s absolutely everywhere at the moment and I am unapologetically obsessed. It makes every drive so much more joyful.
Cow parsley aside, the British seasonal blooms - and foliage - of May are just some of the best. We can’t shout enough about using locally grown, in-season flowers. Especially when you’re getting married in an outdoor setting, it’s all just going to ‘fit-in’ so beautifully 🌱🤍

Springtime Inspiration 🌱🤍
When we started planning the spring open day for @thelakesideatwildberryfarm I knew exactly what design I wanted to create in a venue that I know so well.
May at the Lakeside is countryside perfection. Fresh and dreamy, full of vibrant green spring leaves, delicate cow parsley, pillowy white & peach hawthorn blossom and, to top it off, the seed heads of the willow that create natures own confetti as the wind gently blows it across the meadow.
The Lakeside open day had to take inspiration from its own stunning natural beauty, and I wanted to create something that felt seamless within its setting.
White & Greens with a hint of soft peach. Natural materials. Seasonal British greenery and blooms. A statement tablescape that stood out, yet from certain aspects almost blended into its environment. Seeing it come to life was magnificent.

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better day. The weather was incredible, the venue was abundant with the natural beauty of spring, the marquee, styling, setups and flowers were perfection, the drinks were flowing, the food delicious, our suppliers were all fabulous…and best of all we got to share our special space with so many lovely engaged couples 🫶🏻

Another day, another site visit in the sunshine ☀️
@turveyhouse is very local to me, I drive past it at least once a week and admire the generous estate, but I’ve never been. And oh my it is beautiful! The grounds are just perfect for a marquee wedding and outdoor ceremony.
It’s not often that we commence planning a wedding with a couple who haven’t decided on their venue - typically the decision has already been made to get married at home, or at a dry-hire venue, and couples reach out for support to plan their special day from there.
For A&M, they were torn between a wedding at the brides family home, or at Turvey which they knew of through a family connection. We worked through various considerations and pros/cons of holding the wedding at each location, and made the visit to Turvey to ensure it offered a ceremony setting that our couple felt would suit them and feel meaningful - a particularly important point for them.
It was certainly the perfect day for it weather-wise, and the venue owners were kind and gracious with their time answering our questions despite there being a public event underway. Thank you!
As to whether our couple choose Turvey or their family home- you’ll have to follow and wait to find out! 🤍

BANQUETING STYLE 🤍
Those long rows of tables are the most popular choice for our marquee weddings, but why do couples love them?
• Inclusive – no isolated groups, just one shared experience
• Practical – perfect for maximising space in a long marquee
• Energy – rows back-to-back create more of a buzz
• Visibility – no one has their back to the top table
• Impact – endless rows create a real visual statement
Plus, your catering team will thank you too, for ease of access 👀
Unless - and this is a hill we will die on - you try and fit FIVE lengthwise rows in your 12m deep marquee 🚩
It might look fine on a plan, or in an empty marquee, and your marquee company might even provide floor plans that show it, but please don’t do it! ✋ Once guests are seated (chairs out, bags down, staff moving)… there’s just NO space to walk between the rows. Flow is restricted, your wedding breakfast service becomes near impossible, and the whole room feels cramped.

Our top 3 tips for getting it right:
1.Leave at least 1.5 to 1.8m between tables
2.Add cross-aisles to rows of 6+ tables so guests and staff can move easily

Imposing Peaks 🔼
Today we’re celebrating the impressive magnificence of the Nordic tipi. These beautiful structures aren’t chosen as often as some other marquee options, but when they are, it’s always a delight to see these giant hats standing proud at The Lakeside.
With their wide open fronts, tipis are perfect for creating that seamless indoor–outdoor flow that so many couples want for an outdoor wedding. Their height also makes them ideal for dramatic styling - tassels, draping, suspended disco balls and more.
A&N used one tipi for dining and another for drinking and dancing, giving each space its own individual character through immersive styling. They really are the perfect choice for fun, relaxed and truly personal weddings. And if you’re dreaming of a festival-style vibe, they’re the ideal option for that party aesthetic.
Sadly, we don’t have any tipis gracing our fields this year, but we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed they make a return for some of our big days in 2027.
