Four nights.
Four courses.
One open fire grill.
One summer to remember.
This Summer we’ve invited four of our favourite chefs to take over our rooftop grill for one night only. They’ll bring their unique style of cooking to the Culpeper rooftop, and serve up a long-table dinner to remember as the sun sets over London.
Kicking things off, Green Michelin star chef @chefivantd (@eatnative , @fieldnotes.uk ) brings the unexpected, and delicious. Using seasonal ingredients, and produce grown at @deptfordlittlefarm - this is a celebration of the best of summer, from June to September. Think whole trout, BBQ oyster mushrooms and woodruff creme pavlova. Can’t make it? Every month one of each chef’s dishes will remain on our daily rooftop menu for the rest of the month as a souvenir of their time with us. Coming up:
@chefivantd of @fieldnotes.uk - 2 June
@pegsquinn of @sonnystores - 7 July
@anaortiz_chef of @firemadeuk - 4 August
@ned_burrell96 of @kneppwildingkitchen - 8 September
Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment. Book your ticket now through the link in our bio 🌅

@motherroot has genuinely been on my radar for many years. The vast majority of ginger based drinks never pack the punch I’m looking for but the blend of ginger, organic cider vinegar & chilli extract hits the spot.
I like to garnish my drink with dried chilli and lime for a little play on a #picante but for a more traditional garnish use a slice of lemon and sprig of rosemary.
Ginger is one of the most commonly wasted items in home fridges and so using Mother Root to add that spice to your cooking is a sure fire way to help keep costs and waste down. I’m looking forward to seeing what recipes I come up with! 🔥

This might be one of the most exciting new kitchens in East London💡
@chefivantd is cooking with real intention at @fieldnotes_e8 – a small, ever-shifting menu inside a beautifully reworked workshop in London Fields.
Ivan, formerly of Covent Garden favourite Native, brings his sustainable mindset to dishes inspired by childhood flavours and travels. The tight menu runs from snacks to desserts and is built for sharing.
The focaccia drenched in confit garlic oil was outrageous: soft, salty, glossy, with a touch of honey that took it into perfect sweet–salty territory. The fish toast was light but packed with flavour, and the artichoke bites with Lincolnshire Poacher were spot on.
Wild mushrooms were deep and savoury, almost smoky. The scallops were a standout – thick, meaty, perfectly cooked.
The roasted cauliflower was another hit, and the line-caught pollock came in a light lobster bisque that pulled everything together. And the marrowmel? Silky, savoury, glossy – it deserves to be on every menu in the city.

Test kitchen vibes and natural wines in a candlelit corner of London Fields - @fieldnotes_e8 🍷
Chef Ivan Tisdall-Downes is behind it all; I’ve been a fan of his for years (loved his @aldeburghfood & Drink Festival demo a few years back), so it was a treat to finally see his new spot.
@chefivantd - it's a beauty 😍
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in London this year ✨
@fieldnotes_e8 by Michelin Green Star Chef Ivan Tisdall Downes @chefivantd truly exceeded every expectation 🌿
Every dish was immaculate, but the standouts for me were the Fish Bread, the Fallow Deer and of course The Marrowmel 😍
The flavours were so unique, so thoughtful and honestly unforgettable ✨
And for the quality you get, the prices are surprisingly fair 💸
Expect around £40 to £50 for a three course meal, a bit more if you go for snacks and drinks 🍽️
If you love Negronis, please try the Field Notes Negroni. It is floral, fragrant and absolutely perfect 🍊🍹
Every dish here blew me away 💥
A must try in London ⭐

Within a coworking space you’d never expect sits a softly lit test-kitchen wine bar that feels like an unexpected fiver in your pocket. The chef, with a well earned Green Michelin Star, cooks right in front of the counter seating, talking you through the dish with the kind of warmth and curiosity that makes the whole experience feel personal.
Small plates lean experimental: think fish on brown toast, fallow tail and deer done with quiet precision, steam trout complemented by lobster bisque tableside, and marrowmel - a wild, unforgettable dessert built from roasted bone marrow and caramelised white chocolate. Candlelight, soft shadows, and shelves of wines line the room, with staff who know exactly how to pair each glass to what’s in front of you.

This new restaurant NEEDS to be on your radar
I love finding a new hidden gem, and @fieldnotes_e8 in London Fields might just be one my new favourites ✨
It has stunning interiors, a great wine selection, and the most incredible dishes. The steak tartare and the venison dishes were my favourites but literally every single dish blew us away! Oh and if you have a sweet tooth the bone marrow caramel is essential 🤩
It’s intimate, candlelit and reasonably priced…all things that make it the perfect date night spot that needs to be added to your list immediately 📝
@chefivantd has created something very special here and I’ll definitely be coming back again and again

“People have said I’m a bit mad, that I should be buying a house instead, but I feel like I have to give it one more roll of the dice,” says Ivan Tisdall-Downes, who found popularity at Native, which closed earlier this year. Field Notes is run through with the same DNA: nose-to-tail cooking, foraging and zero-waste thinking, which is funnelled into dishes like sesame fish toast with apple hoisin and a steak tartare that winks at old-school cafes, arriving at the table with fried bread in a toast rack and brown sauce.
