Origins Tapes 173 - Field Motion 👉 Head to the link in bio to listen With us for Tapes #173 is Field Motion, described by Resident Advisor as “some truly lethal London talent.” His work sits firmly in the exploratory corners of contemporary UK club music. He was inspired to begin producing while building a speaker for his graduate thesis, a materials engineer’s proposal for the radical redesign of club sound systems. His off-kilter take on techno, bass, and broken beat has landed on respected UK labels such as Scuffed Recordings and Goddezz, as well as through remixes for artists like LUXE. As a DJ, his sets aim to bridge experimental playfulness with heads-down club functionality, drawing equally from emerging sonic frontiers and the lost decades of dance music’s past. A busy 2025 saw him selected for Rhythm Section’s Future Proof programme, receiving mentorship from Pearson Sound and continuing to carve out a distinct space in tomorrow’s world of club futurism.

Last Saturday was just something else. Big ups to @slipped__disc for hosting and shoutout to everyone who came down and gave it all to the dance. No idea when I’ll be playing a mega venue like that again soon, but what I do know is I’m having second thoughts about going into hibernation in the studio. Soooo, if any promoters are looking for bookings you can get to me at the email in my link in bio!! Would be well nice to play some more gigs big & small in some new places 🌐🌐🌐

This months guest on Field Data is none other breakbeat wizard and man of the moment @dj__sprinter !! Though he’s not been on the block for long, Oslo’s DJ Sprinter has quickly established a distinct voice in contemporary club music. His productions centre on breakbeat-driven, drum-focused tracks. Minimal, functional and built for sound systems. Working across UK bass, breakbeats and deconstructed club, his releases on Bandcamp and Rinse FM have gained steady traction, with “Cube 11” named one of Mixmag’s best tracks of 2025. As a DJ, he delivers high energy sets that prioritise movement and flow, with recent appearances across clubs and radio in Europe and Asia. Join us both on Aaja channel 2 tonight 8-10pm. This one’s a no brainer - get locked in 🔐🔐🔐

2 hours of @goodmostlybad__ on the buttons tonight for Field Data, a very special episode!! GoodMostlyBad is a multi-genre shapeshifter with zero interest in neat little boxes. Cutting her teeth in hip hop production, she channels that rhythmic instinct straight into the club - fusing genres into bass-driven rollers that hit low, move deep, and refuse to sit still. Built on thick basslines and razor-sharp groove, her tracks feel as alive as the rooms they’re played in. With releases on Vief Records, Scuffed Recordings, Bad Tips, and Earful of Wax, she’s steadily carving out a lane that’s entirely her own. GMB - “This might just be the best mix I’ve ever recorded — loud, chaotic, and a little bit unhinged (in the best way). We’re bouncing between genres like we’ve got something to prove, packed with some of my absolute favourite producers”. This one’s a no brainer - 8pm Aaja Channel 2 tonight, get locked in🔒🔒 Artwork: @ois.ink

What would The Waiting Room, London sound like? Excited to be playing for @signal.events here on Saturday so thought I’d give it the MIDI treatment. Rolling rhythms made for sweaty basements... #synth #sounddesign #music #housemusic #fyp

🚨🚨🚨 NEW TRACK 🚨🚨🚨 Very excited to announce that I have a new track ‘Locus Drop’ out today - a first in a series of self releases that have been a long time coming. It’s set at name your price with 100% of proceeds to be donated to Doctors Without Borders in perpetuity. This one collages liquid soundscapes with soundsystem sensibilities - a futurist 140 stomper brimming with textural sound design... I intend this series to act as an outlet for freeform club music experimentation that works best in the form of standalone tracks, to me it seems diaristic almost. All proceeds from each release will be going to charitable causes, supporting vital work that matters now more than ever. Hope you enjoy. 🔗 Link to track in bio 🔗

What would Kinetica Apartments in Dalston, London sound like? I’ve transcribed the macro structures of the building into MIDI to answer that very question that no one asked. Omninous modernism with a glacial sheen... #synth #sounddesign #music #ambient #fyp

February’s Field Data guest comes in the form of percussion maestro @sazzle______ Sazzle is a London-based DJ and producer of Middle Eastern descent whose genre-defying sets draw on her background in architecture, music, and art. Her signature sound blends groove, tribal textures, and the percussive drive of Latin rhythms, creating an infectious flow that gets the whole floor moving. Focused on building and releasing energy, Sazzle centers her mixing around percussive elements that keep the dancefloor in constant motion. Infused with the weight and swing of bass-driven club sounds, her sets explore the intersections of Latin bass, tribal techno, and punchy percussive club sounds. With a self-release that drew support from Verraco, Doctor Jeep, and Peder Mannerfelt to name a few and a recent track featured on Tratratrax’s new compilation - she has gone on to appear at Boiler Room, Arcadia, and underground parties across the UK, sharing the bill with industry favourites such as Mark Broom and X Club while continuously pushing her sound forward... Catch us both on @aajamusic channel 2 tonight, from 8-10pm - I’m on for the first hour warming up with a 60 minute selected excerpt from AFX’s 26 Mixes For Cash, followed by Sazzle taking helm of the buttons for the main event.
