12 years ago today, Selkie was caught and brought to the Calgary Humane Society. They fixed her up, and guesstimated her age as being between 4-7 years old. Her intake date was declared her birthday, so here we are- 16(+) years old! All clips in this video were taken within the past year, a testament to her character at this point in her life. Christmas 2024- we only got this one shot that shows both cats participating- Finn naturally just wanted to steal the baubles and skitter them around, and Selkie sat still in compliance, but all the while contemplating her existence š
In 2024 we decided to do this cute trend, where you cut a hole in some cardboard, glue on a bunch of baubles, and then tempt the cats to put their heads through for the shot. This photographer has to admit this is much more easily said than done when you have a feisty tabby who wants to try and fit his WHOLE 17 pound body through a small hole in the cardboard, and then rip off all the baubles and scatter them around. In 2023 we took a little trip to the North Pole for our photoshoot.
