Hi! I’m Erica, founder of Fiddleleaf Staging Company. I’ve worn many hats over the years: As a writer and editor, a historic home renovator, and the owner of an Airbnb management company, to name a few. I also spent a year in France with my family, and returned to Richmond raring to launch this staging company that combines two of my passions: interior design and real estate. Our family’s busy life in the Fan inspires my style — think a millennial Nancy Meyers with a French accent. Reach out if you’d like to work together!

It was a dream to stage this stately tudor on Riverside Drive! Working with some of the owners’ more modern furniture, our goal was to warm up the space while speaking to the historic style of the home. Listed at just under $2 million, this beauty is already under contract! 🗝️ Listing agent @carrie.robeson 📷 @mickandersphotography

It’s been a few years since we sold our last Cape Charles house, a fixer upper project that kept us occupied during the Covid years. We’ve returned to this sweet little town often, and every time, we miss having a place of our own. We finally decided to make that dream a reality again, and we closed on our new house last week! This beautiful old house is situated right in the center of town, just a block from the charming main street and Central Park, and four blocks from the beach. We love that it’s a duplex that can accommodate up to 14 guests across three floors. We also love that it’s been renovated in recent years, meaning our work is mostly cosmetic this time. We’ll be out here spending the next few weekends getting her ready for the summer season. Our hope is to rent out the full house to larger families and friend groups in the summer months, and rent out the individual sides (sleeping 4 and 10, respectively) in the off season. We’ll be listing it on Airbnb, but we’re always open to direct bookings, so get in touch soon if you’d like to claim a summer week (they go fast!)

8 Willway Avenue is already under contract, but she definitely deserves a spot on the grid! We don’t do a lot of occupied staging these days, but we made an exception for this dreamboat of a house that had a few vacant rooms and just needed finishing touches in some others. We took cues from the seller’s existing furnishings and decor to create a warm, French country vibe that suits the home so well. 🗝️ Listed by @margaretwaderealtor 📷 Photos by @mickandersphotography

Another cutie listing from @ronstephevansrealtors ! It’s no surprise that 1508 Westbury Drive went under contract almost immediately. Great house, great neighborhood, great price — and the staging was the icing on the cake that helped it all stand out! 🎂 📷 @tourvirginiahomes

As stagers, we’re not just moving in furniture and calling it a day. We’re creating spaces that make an emotional connection with buyers. Spaces that make them imagine they’re walking through the door of their new home. Staging is an integral part of marketing a home to potential buyers, and successful agents never skip it.

Word on the street is that 3924 Park received nearly a dozen offers! Is anyone surprised, though? She so cute! And listing agent @lelandklim knows how to prepare a listing for the market. Congrats to the sellers and buyers, this one is a gem! 💎 📸 @river.city.media

If Beatrix Potter lived in Richmond, I’m pretty sure 4918 Bromley Lane would be her spot. Of course, this one went under contract almost immediately, but we still love looking at her 💕 🗝️ Listing agent @jdaylor620 @daylorstilesteam 📷 Luke Templeton

Wait — that doesn’t look like Richmond real estate… because it’s in France! I was flipping back through old photos and found these memories of house-hunting in Bordeaux. We were seriously considering buying a home for our move to France a few years ago, but ultimately decided to rent an apartment. Still, I loved getting a glimpse inside of real French homes, and I’m still very much inspired by their clever use of space and seamlessly blending old and new. Our time in France completely changed my views on how much space we need to live comfortably, and deeply inspired my design aesthetic as well. Richmond real estate sure looks different, but you may just see a hint of that French influence in Fiddleleaf stages from time to time 🇫🇷

This classic colonial in the Whitehall neighborhood has been lovingly maintained by its original owners for decades. We took this beautiful blank slate and added some fresh and modern furniture and accessories to appeal to today’s buyers. With this idyllic location, I’m sure this one won’t last long! 📍 8420 Valley Wood Road, Henrico 🏷️ $859k 🗝️ Listed by @jimdunnrvahomes 📸 Photos by @tourvirginiahomes
