Meaning we sometimes opt for a slightly heavier material if the characteristics bring more function to the end result. Think about durability and serviceability. You might not notice it at first but for sure when the wheels keep you rolling longer than imagined!

Time Trial Tuesday: 70.3 Gulf Coast Edition 2:04:12 (27 mph avg) - 7th fastest 70.3 split in history - not too shabby.

But made some critical errors.
I purposefully brought the hydration and fuel I would need so I didn’t have to slow at aid stations. But I didn’t consume the hydration. 🤦🏼♀️ this increased my carb concentration, slowing digestion and causing it to pool in my stomach. That…probably combined with the humidity and the intensity of the effort led to the issues in the run.
I share this as a reminder to everyone that if you find yourself getting so focused on one specific aspect of the race (for me it was riding fast) that you may be neglecting something else. Recognize if you are hyperfocused on one aspect, then mentally zoom out, review the checklist of things you need to do to set yourself up for a complete race, and take care of business.
While one good split may be sexy, throwing up on the side of the road and limiting your best possible result is not. 😉👍🏼

El sonido del buje de mis @ffwdwheels DRIFT es de orquesta. Es un DT240 EXP y escucharlo es puro placer. Rodar con ellas también es puro placer.
Desde que le cambié las ruedas a mi bici de gravel disfruto el triple no solo por el sonido sino porque absorben mucho más las imperfecciones con los 48mm de perfil. Ancho interior de 28mm y exterior de 36mm. Un lujo, vamos.
Y con los 1450g de peso son súper ligeras.
Lo tienen todo, son rápidas, ligeras, rígidas y lucen taaaan bien 🤤
