All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and ready to go home. 🍰 Plus, Nothing Bundt Cakes will be on site with sweet treats to make your day even sweeter! 🐾🎉 1,426 Lives Changed in 2025 — Thanks to You! 🎉🐾 Because of our incredible community, 1,426 pets were adopted into loving homes in 2025. Each number represents a life transformed, a second chance given, and a family made whole. 💜 From cats and dogs to kittens and puppies, and even our smaller companions like guinea pigs, ferrets, and rabbits, pets of all shapes, sizes, and species found the safety, love, and forever families they deserve. These adoptions didn't just happen...they were made possible by compassionate adopters, dedicated volunteers, devoted fosters, generous donors, and a community that believes every animal matters. As we look back on 2025 with full hearts, we're reminded that together, we are changing lives, one adoption at a time. 🐶🐱🐰 ✨ Here's to every happy ending, every wagging tail, every purr, and every joyful homecoming. Thanks to everyone who joined us at our Guest Bartending Event at BBC Tavern and Grill, tipped our amazing guest bartenders, donated, entered raffles, and supported the animals of Faithful Friends Animal Society! Because of your generosity, and the incredible $15,000 matching gift from generous donors, including the Woo Family, we raised OVER $35,000 for the pets in our care! 🎉🐾 Every dollar will help provide shelter, medical care, food, enrichment, and second chances for animals who need us most. Events like this truly show what an incredible community we have behind us. Meet Riley. A sweet senior 🐾 After a Facebook post caught our attention to a cat in need, several kind women worked together to safely catch her, and we met them at an extended stay hotel in Newark to bring her to safety at Faithful Friends. ❤️ Riley arrived severely matted from head to toe, so we gave her a full shave down and even a cozy sweater to help keep her warm (not pictured). Despite everything she's been through, she is in wonderful spirits, eating well, purring nonstop, and soaking up the love. She's a little thin and appears to be an older girl, but overall, she seems to be doing pretty well so far. We're waiting on bloodwork and will continue monitoring her closely this week, but we're hopeful she's on the right path. For now, we're just grateful she's safe, comfortable, and finally getting the care she deserves. 🩷

Hosted by Griswold Home Care, this event brings together runners, walkers, families, and animal lovers to make a positive impact in New Castle County. 653 days. 💙 That's how long Rocky Dude waited for a forever home. First at ACCT Philly and then here at Faithful Friends Animal Society. For nearly two years, Rocky Dude watched other dogs come and go while he patiently waited for someone to see the incredible dog we all knew and loved. Shelter life can be especially hard on long-term dogs, but Rocky Dude never gave up hope… and neither did we. We are overjoyed to share that Rocky Dude has officially been ADOPTED! 🎉🐾 To everyone who shared his posts, rooted for him, visited him, advocated for him, and believed in him along the way, thank you. 🌐 Faithful Friends Animal Society (FFAS) is seeking a Marketing & Communications Intern who is passionate about storytelling, animal advocacy, and making a difference for pets and people in our community. This hands-on opportunity will help you grow your skills in marketing, communications, social media, and nonprofit outreach while supporting Delaware's most progressive no-kill animal welfare organization. ADOPTAPOOLOZA☀️🍉🐾 This Saturday, May 16 we are teaming up with Faithful Friends Animal Society for an exciting adoption event! Summer is just around the corner, making it the perfect time to welcome a furry friend home! With the kids out of school, longer sunny days, and vacation time saved for beach trips and adventures, warmer weather gives families more flexibility to help a new pet settle in, build routines, and enjoy plenty of time together. From backyard playtime to sunset walks, summer is better with a best friend by your side! To kick off summer, we are hosting an Adoptapooloza adoption event in collaboration with Faithful Friends at Cabela’s in the Christiana Mall from 11AM–3PM! Stop by to meet adorable adoptable pets from both shelters, learn more about adoption, and hopefully find your perfect summer sidekick! 💦We’re making a splash with this one, as ALL ADOPTIONS WILL BE $50! Every pup attending the event will be fully vetted prior to adoption, including vaccinations, dewormer, preventatives, heartworm testing, and spay/neuter surgery. That means they’re ready to head home and start soaking up summer with their new families right away! This past weekend, a few members of our team had the opportunity to attend the Best Friends Animal Society National Conference! 🐾 From engaging workshops and inspiring speakers to connecting with fellow animal welfare professionals from across the country, the conference was filled with valuable ideas, meaningful conversations, and renewed motivation to continue making a difference for animals and the people who love them. We're excited to bring back new knowledge, fresh inspiration, and innovative ideas to help us better serve our community and continue saving lives right here in Delaware. 💙

Each year, Volunteer Delaware honors remarkable adults whose service uplifts communities, strengthens organizations, and inspires others to get involved. Through the Governor's Volunteer Service Awards, they celebrate individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership, compassion, and commitment to helping others across our state. These Adult Awards recognize volunteers who have freely given their time, skills, and energy to improve the lives of Delawareans. From supporting youth and families to protecting the environment or advancing community well-being, each honoree embodies the true spirit of service and civic engagement. These awards honor those who go above and beyond, whose work may happen quietly, yet whose impact reaches far and wide. Faithful Friends is proud to announce that Corey, one of our incredibly dedicated volunteers, has been selected as a 2026 honoree. Corey generously gives more than 500 hours of service each year, always stepping up wherever help is needed throughout the shelter. His compassion, reliability, and commitment make a lasting impact on our animals, staff, and community every single day. We are beyond grateful for all that he does and cannot wait to celebrate this well-deserved recognition together at this year's award ceremony.
