Pretty chuffed to share that our short film, Permanent Guest, will have its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in the Short Cuts programme this September! Got the chance to work on good friend/lovely human @sanajafri14 ’s beautiful film in Lahore a few months ago. The sound of time this month was a special one. Invited long time old friend, probably one of my oldest friends, @fezedi on the show @n10.as . Archived now on SoundCloud with flavors from all across the world, dancy and not, some great moments in these 2 hours. I’m on hour 1 as usual and Faiz kix in hour 2. — Fezedi, real name, Faiz Zaidi, is a full-time sound man, part-time DJ, based mostly in Karachi. A fan and collector of music from all over the world, he plays a mix of stuff to chill to and stuff to dance to.

Not long now till our Sound for Film workshop in Lahore, and I wanted to share some of what we’ll be covering - Expect a hands-on approach to learning the process of recording sound live on location: how to use a mixer, how to mic up people, all about boom mics and booming techniques, set etiquette, what to do during pre-production, recording sound fx, and lots more. We’ll go over aspects of audio post-production as well, and the ways to make it work on lower budget shoots in Pakistan. Hopefully something to learn for everyone.
