The inspiration for this song came from the 1986 Cleveland Balloonfest Disaster where the city of Cleveland launched 1 million+ balloons into the sky as an attempt to set a world record (the event was not recognized by the book of world records).
The event proved to be as awe inspiring as it was disastrous. The balloons caused environmental damage and even disrupted the search for 2 missing fishermen on Lake Erie. We were fascinated by how far people are willing to go to prove their significance.
We went back and forth to each other’s houses recording bits and pieces, consuming lots of tea and burning the gnome.
Heart is full after drinking tea & playing music under the stars to conclude summer & begin autumn. 🌌 🍵 🌙
