Everytime I’m in Jakarta I can always see myself as part of the one who’s been shaped by this city. Never in my mind regretted myself to spent most of my ages and used to work hard in Jakarta, eventho when everytime I’m doing it all, also everytime I almost quit but always ended up I didn’t 🤣
Jakarta might not for everyone, but as someone who spent most of the life in Jakarta all I can say is this city has important part of how I were now,
How the way I work,
How the way I think,
How the way I express.
Now, Jogja is my home. But Jakarta is my forever place that I already put on the special place on my heart & mind no matter how chaos and packed it is
Yesterday, Tadasih has just completed two days of brewing service pop-up in Lombok. The city that I always remember when I used to visited at least once a month since 2013–2019, including arrived H+1 after main earthquake in 2018
After more than seven years, I am very happy to be back to Lombok and witnessed a huge different in everything. What makes it happier was I came to representing Tadasih and serving great coffee to the people in Mataram, Lombok. This trip was very special not only coming back to this city, also to celebrate my long-term friendship with @abem46 that witnessing Tadasih’s journey from the beginning period back in 2019
Brewing coffee in the city that I firstly came as the coffee brewer was always interesting & exciting. Have no large view or specific clue about how specialty coffee Lombok were, I came with believeness and only fully-represent of my works in Tadasih. Bringing exceptional coffee—that might most of Tadasih guest in Jogja already familiar with, then serve to the new people in Lombok. I am truly honoured to met a lot of people that truly & high-enthusiatically with how coffee scene progression in Tadasih and Jogja in general. To share what we personally believe in Tadasih in terms of how we work, sourcing, roasting and of course—brewing. On two busy days of brewing coffee, we also got a lot of new perspective from how people in other city sees coffee in general. This what makes me loves to travel, see with my own eyes, drowning into new conversation with new people in new places. Getting myself learn & unlearn, be a good listener and how the I positioning myself
I personally confirm that Tadasih will definitely comeback to Lombok for another brewing service pop-up someday. We are really happy and being honoured by the warm welcome. Thankyou very much to let Tadasih brewing coffee in your weekend

Almost every morning we woke around 4 or 4:30 early in the morning to get everything prepared for Tadasih. The unfamiliar gradually becaming familiar silent when the sun is about to rise. To witnessing the magical sky when sun is rising meanwhile the moon sometimes still there, Jogja’s before sunrise time becaming magical for these previous days
LAST DAY OF RAMADHAN TUNING DOWN
Ended Tadasih PM session of the year with an sign from how rapidly changed the weather could affect physically. This year, Tadasih just wrapped up the PM session and marked another outstanding report. Every PM session—for us, is a huge challenge since we operate in unusual situation. First we faced short operational hour that resulting an intense three-hour brewing service. Second, brewing coffee day & night required different brewing aproach from grind size and temperature. Living in tropical country basically we are dealing with temperature & humidity, so we adjusted—slightly modified our daily brewing recipe & variable only for the PM session. Third, we operated with unusual working hour. Since we always open in the morning along the year, only in Ramadhan for almost a month we opened basically on our bedtime 🤣 this required a quick body adjustment and the first week was…really hard to adjust. Fourth, last two month was generally huge challenge for our body since we went from winter ❄️ to heavy—rainy⛈️ and then the latest was rapidly changed to 35°C ☀️ affected us physically for few previous days
Every year, on every PM session, we evaluate and learn something new to make next year better. And finally we come to an end of Ramadhan and Jogja has started to feels like a festive city since the homecoming season at it’s peak. Seven years ago I thought it was almost impossible to live my life by brewing people filter coffee. Yet, the ‘almost’ means there might only 1% chance and the believeness drove me into the path that I even too afraid to imagined
Tadasih today is only an imagination 8-9 years ago when I still living by traveled to half of the globe. Living my life by doing something that I love and enjoy so much seems like a dream—at that time I have no idea it would exists someday
Building Tadasih not only calculating the number in business, more than that it’s a life scene directing. Work as you do everything daily, mindfully & effortlessly
Seven years of living from something that we love and becaming the fulltime director our life is something more than we asked

BOUND FOR HOME WITH GRATITUDE
Writing this on my flight home from Tokyo to Singapore
Our latest winter Kyoto residency week truly opening our perspective to found out another version of true. We believe there is no wrong—we believe there’s just another true instead. What we need is to learn how to understand and knowing how to see everything in open mind so we can realizing the Another True
For me, personally, putting myself as a student (again) not only gaining my knowledge & experiences, other than that it practicing me to be acceptance of other perspective and knowledge that might be a huge reason behind every lesson given. On seventh year of becaming the only brewer & roaster in Tadasih, there is nothing I can show off other than commitment and willingness to keep learning. Being a mature adult who run a mature business by becaming a good example in the future to proving that doing things repeatedly for years doesn’t automatically make me good without learning & practicing
I want to thankyou to @adjengs who always gave me room & countless support to improve. Thankyou @kaneko_masahiro for a week flavor & lesson—your farewell coffee making more hard to say goodbye for now. Thankyou @yozo.otsuki for years of friendship—very nice to meet you again. Thankyou @masyamac for the subway conversation on my last day in Kyoto. Thankyou for my hands, legs, ears, eyes, mouth and body for working hard during winter in Kyoto.

A MOMENT OF SILENCE
These are the moment maybe less than 30 minutes before I’ll be in the back of the five kalita tsubame and brewing hundreds of coffee till noon. Coffee dialed, team briefed and took time to relax. Today @_tadasih has just marked their lists to did a filter coffee pop-up in Kurasu Kissaten, one of the busiest coffee bar in Jakarta. Did a pop-up with zero worries because I know I was surrounded by very well-prepared team. And yes, hundred coffee brewed with zero mistake—filled by endless conversation with the guest, seamless working and time felt went so fast. Again, what I can tell is what makes everything so effortless and zero worries just because the daily routine. Both, Tadasih & Kurasu used to work with fast-paced but not rushed. Everything went smooth like hot knife through butter
This weekend will stay on my mind permanently and marked as good memories. Met lot of people in the middle of very bery good vibes & atmosphere. Me thankyou for everyone behind the coffee bar this morning. Thankyou @2_mdj for the letting me poured hot water through Tadasih’s coffee in Kurasu Kissaten this morning. Thankyou everyone who woke early in the middle of morning rain and made to Iskandarsyah. Such an honor for me personally 🙇🏻♂️
JUST ANOTHER DAY OF THE TADASIH ROUTINE
The calm, relax and focus when brewing hundreds of coffee and seeing endless queue on your right side wasn’t born in one night. That was the result from the real daily routine from Tadasih’s daily service. What I did in Puck today was what I did almost everyday in Tadasih yet happily today I got a chance to do it again in Jakarta by bringing 90% equipment & replicated heavyduty working flow from Jogja
The long journey of everyday routine becaming a practice, then the practices becaming the brain & muscle memory training. These was accumulated into calm, relax and confident feeling whenever you do it repeatedly, even for hundreds people in hours.
