Starting something tomorrow:
Family Meal Fridays.
Every Friday I’ll cook lunch for the team.
Experimental things. New ideas. Things I’m obsessing over lately.
Tomorrow:
carbonara udon noodles.
A dish inspired by one I had in Tokyo.
Made our way.
If you feel like having something different for lunch tomorrow, just ask for family meal.
12–15h
Otsu has been shortlisted among
Europe’s best coffee shops 🤍
A nice thing to happen along the way.
We’ll keep making coffee, changing flowers,
obsessing over details and doing what we do.
If you feel like sending a little coffee karma our way,
the voting link is in bio ☕️

During my trip to Kyoto,
the chef and owner at Nozaki showed me how to make a proper Japanese omelette.
And by proper, I mean proper.
The exact recipe.
Precise grams, technique, every step.
So I could bring it back to Otsu
and share a bit of that trip with you.
A few attempts later…
(and a few questionable omelettes)
I finally got there.
This weekend’s special:
a squared tamagoyaki omelette
that takes me right back to Kyoto.
The upcoming summer menu is taking a different direction.
Healing foods.
With that in mind, I’ve been testing a drink I’m particularly excited about: homemade Apple Cider Vinegar Soda.
I wanted something refreshing,
but that also leaves you feeling good.
Apple cider vinegar helps with digestion,
and just makes sense for summer.
Some of you already tried it,
and you’re as obsessed as I am.
Available on request.
This weekend’s special, I’m bringing one of my favorite Japanese desserts to Otsu: taiyaki.
I had one every single day on my last trip to Japan #noregrets
The texture is what got me,
chewy, airy, with a golden crisp.
Not too sweet, but enough to fix the craving.
So this weekend: taiyaki waffles
Two versions!
classic vanilla custard
and apple cinnamon
Saturday + Sunday
While I was in Japan, I became obsessed with the vending machines on every corner.
Walking through Tokyo, I’d always have a milk tea or a milk coffee in my bag. Something to sip while moving, exploring.
I’ve been missing that. So we made it, Otsu style.
This weekend’s special comes in a box with two glass bottles: milk tea and milk brew.
Made to take with you. Just like I did in Japan.
Starting Friday at Otsu.
Who’s ready for squared onigiris this weekend? 🍙
I brought a few things back from Japan:
Umeboshi from Tokyo.
A very special furikake from Kyoto.
You’ll taste the difference.
Saturday + Sunday only.
Back from Japan 🥢
Full of ideas, new ingredients and a few things I can’t wait to share.
Already working on what’s next. Summer is taking shape.
Expect ingredients that feel good: healing, nurturing, simple.
See you tomorrow at Otsu! 🤍
Otsu goes to Otsu 🤍
In japanese, Otsu means “well done”.
Here, it’s a place.
At home, it became one.
Two meanings, somehow connected.
In both, I find peace.
Went to TeamLab with a few Otsu pieces. Probably not their intended use.
Scrunchie, cap, tote. All made it through.
A lot of bubbles. A bit of chaos.
Cap held up.
Tote did its job.
Scrunchie… still there.
Tested properly. Bringing these back with me.
