The British Embassy Baku joins communities around the world today in reaffirming something simple but vital: everyone, everywhere, has the right to live freely, love openly and express themselves without fear.
Human rights are not conditional. Dignity is not something that needs to be earned. And no one should face hatred or harm simply for being themselves.
Today and every day, we stand for equality and choose love over hate ❤️

Bu ay xanımlarımıza mentorluq etmək və onlara yeni texnikalar öyrətmək məqsədilə Masallıda vorkshoplar keçirilmişdir.
Türkiyədən @ayseozdemirmom xanımın və Pasha Holding-in, Böyük Britaniyadan isə @rushmatters xanımın və British Council-in dəstəyi ilə baş tutan bu dərslər çox səmimi və ilhamverici atmosferdə keçdi.
Dəstəklərinə və yaratdıqları gözəl abu-havaya görə hər birinə dərin təşəkkürümüzü bildiririk. 🤍
Sonda isə Böyük Britaniyanın Azərbaycandakı Səfiri Ferqus Auld yeni studiyalarını ziyarət edərək iştirakçılarla görüşüb və sertifikatları təqdim edib 👏🏼
🎉 A special evening at the British Embassy, as Ambassador Fergus Auld presented His Majesty The King’s Honours 👑to Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli OBE 🏅and Nargiz Hajiyeva MBE 🏅.
We were proud to come together to celebrate the achievements of the first two Azerbaijani nationals ever to receive these Awards 🇬🇧🇦🇿.
Baxtiyar Aslanbayli received this honour in recognition of his contributions to the development of UK–Azerbaijan relations. Through building partnerships at bp, he has contributed to positive economic, social, and cultural impact in Azerbaijan.
Nargiz Hajiyeva was awarded the honour for her services to education as well as for strengthening UK–Azerbaijan relations. Her work at the British Council has made a significant contribution to creating education and exchange opportunities that will benefit future generations in both countries. Təbriklər!
160+ graduates. Four years of tradition. One last evening together!
Ambassador Fergus Auld hosted his fourth and final UK alumni gathering in Baku, a celebration of the connections built through 🇬🇧 education and a chance to say farewell to the ambassador who made these evenings a tradition.
Behind every strong partnership between nations, there are people who make it real. This community is living proof!
Allie Dunnington - The morning dawned, the weather seemed to hold out for us and our VIP entourage arrived shortly after sunrise. huge excitement was literally ‘ in the air’ as none of our special passengers had ever flown in a balloon.
Winds were scaring me a bit as the direction on take off was to the mountains (and not very accessable areas) so I climbed to 3000 ft in the hope to find the better forecast wind.
But instead of a better direction we only got 4 times the speed🥹🥹
Ok quick decision and come right down..amazingly here it turned nearly 180 degrees and we drifted now nicely towards the beautiful river. Perfect! After 50 min we landed in another river area giving everybody a go on the burner whilst crew was finding us.
Our celebratory picnic was quite hilarious as the cork wouldn’t want to pop - it took three attempts to open it 🤣 🍾
Well this was truly a wonderful moment as everybody was still buzzing with excitement and joy of a great successful flight! Here is to more in the future! 🥂🇦🇿🎈🎈🎈
We were delighted to join Allie Dunnington in her journey as a world famous hot air balloon pilot 🤩
The free flight in @skystar.az was the 125th for @alliedunnington but the first one for Azerbaijan – and we were honoured to be a part of that historic moment 🇬🇧🤝🇦🇿
Azerbaijan’s position between Europe and Asia has always shaped its aviation story, and as the 🇦🇿 aviation sector grows, we hope to see hot air balloon flights to be rising with.

A special evening celebrating art, heritage and collaboration. ✨
On 13 March, British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld @fergus.auld hosted the opening of the “Second Life” carpet exhibition by Arts Council @artscouncil.az — the result of a creative workshop held in Ganja city bringing together artists and cultural practitioners. @britishembassybaku@azbritish
The exhibition presents a unique collection of artworks created by reimagining old Azerbaijani carpets not being in use through contemporary artistic techniques. The project connects tradition unveiling opportunities for climate change awareness with modern creativity while giving Azerbaijan’s carpets a new life.
The workshop in Ganja city was organised by Arts Council Azerbaijan @artscouncil.az and its director Dadash Mammadov @dadashmamedov in collaboration with Black Mountains College UK and supported by British Council @azbritish
We were delighted to welcome artists, cultural leaders and partners to the Ambassador’s Residence and celebrate the power of art to connect cultures. 🎨 🇬🇧🤝🇦🇿
