Reworked a painting from 2018 (in the last slide). Always had a soft spot for that painting, even though I wasn't really happy with it. After a bad decision, I was forced to rework this one. Really happy how this one turned out.
The image was based on Titian's Mary Magdalene.

The first version wasn't quite as festive, so really pleased with how this one turned out.
Brueghel’s tower is a warning against human arrogance and overreaching ambition. This cake, with its excessive tiers and flamboyant decorations, can be seen as a modern parody of that same hubris—replacing architectural might with aesthetic indulgence.
The title references the quote attributed to Marie-Antoinette, symbolizing elite ignorance or detachment from the struggles of the common people. It sets a tone of indulgence, excess, and a disconnect between social classes.
