There are three types of guitar players:
1. Those who master only the instrument in the traditional way.
2. Those who play the instrument for the song.
3. Those who master both guitar playing and songwriting.
To me, truly innovative guitar playing that tickles both my mind and soul is very rare these days. Here are 5 of my favorite guitarists. ❤

@roopamgarg aka The Surrealist

Assamese Gothic Metal band @feathersofjatinga has released yet another banger called BLACK ZODIAC which lyrically explores the darker side of astrology and musically is dark and haunting yet melodic. It features the lead vocals by @itisereka , while the guitars and production are managed by @pargotstudios also featuring @trisha_midicore on bass, Co-production, Co-mixing and mastering, @tsooraj_estranged.lunatic wrote the lyrics which mixes Assamese verse with English chorus and bridge section, Composition is by Ereka and the single’s digital artwork is done by Trisha. Talking about the lyrics and composition, here it sort of has reminded of the early works of EVANESCENCE, CREMATORY and LACUNA COIL and the Assamese part remind me of the early work of Ereka herself and it’s a wild move to add Assamese verse with English phrases on the part of tSooraj and I heavily appreciate that move. The song was recently put up on Bandcamp and YouTube is slated to be released over Spotify soon.

“Cold Dead Love” is a dark, erotic and deeply romantic metal ballad by Feathers of Jatinga @feathersofjatinga , a goth metal band from Assam. Featuring the haunting vocals of Rust Hammer (Eternal Rust) @rusthamm3r , the song evokes a moody, atmospheric blend reminiscent of @mydyingbride_official and @typeonegativeofficial , yet it firmly holds its own unique identity.
With beautiful lines like:
“We are looking for the endless
We are looking for love
You're looking for us
I am looking for love...”
the protagonist expresses his love for his woman even after death. It feels as though he’s a cold ghost, unable to emotionally detach from her. “Cold Dead Love” comes across as eerie, dark yet incredibly beautiful, capturing the power of true love and deep romantic attachment.
With signature seductive goth metal vocals and outrageously gorgeous guitar solo, layered over Black Sabbath-esque riffs, “Cold Dead Love” stands out as a remarkable single by Feathers of Jatinga, proof that goth metal is very much alive in the country.
The new lineup hits hard, featuring the stellar, razor-edged voices of @itisereka and @tsooraj_estranged.lunatic . Three singles are already out, each one a statement.
What Feathers of Jatinga unleashes next? Still in the shadows, unpredictable.

Artist: @feathersofjatinga
Song: Kaar Porokh(feat. @tsooraj_estranged.lunatic )
Genre: #gothmetal
Producer: @pargotstudios
“Kaar Porokh” hits like a quiet truth you didn’t know you were ready to hear. It doesn’t beg for attention or drown you in drama. Instead, it sits with you, patient and honest, letting the weight of its words and melodies slowly sink in. There’s a raw introspection in the song that feels deeply personal yet strangely universal, as if it’s holding up a mirror to your own unanswered questions with Vocalist @tsooraj_estranged.lunatic 's powerful vocals. Feathers of Jatinga show a beautiful restraint here. Every note feels intentional, every pause meaningful and the overall atmosphere lingers long after the track ends.
Listening to it also reminded me how rich and soulful Assamese music can be at its best...rooted, thoughtful and emotionally fearless. In that spirit, it’s impossible not to bow in respect to the late @zubeen.garg , whose greatness continues to define and elevate the musical soul of Assam, inspiring generations of artists to create with honesty, courage and heart.

Lyrically, as described in the band’s Bandcamp notes, T.Y.M.A explores posthumous reflection following suicide, critiquing performative empathy and societal hypocrisy surrounding mental health discourse. The narrative questions the sincerity of collective concern expressed only after loss, highlighting the absence of genuine listening and emotional presence when it mattered most. This thematic focus aligns with gothic traditions that examine alienation, silence and moral contradiction.
Overall, “T.Y.M.A (There You Missed Again)” represents a significant stylistic and conceptual evolution within Feathers of Jatinga’s discography. Through its non-linear structure, restrained production palette and sophisticated vocal composition, the track prioritizes narrative integrity and emotional realism over accessibility with @ereka_._._ and @tsooraj_estranged.lunatic 's theatrical, technical yet soulful singing with @trisha_midicore 's earthy bass and music production of team at @pargotstudios . It stands as a compelling example of contemporary metal engaging with operatic form and social critique without sacrificing artistic cohesion.
“T.Y.M.A” by @feathersofjatinga is out now on all streaming platforms.

A few words about our ( @feathersofjatinga ) newly dropped single #T_Y_M_A .
Was one hell of a creative process as @pargotstudios , myself & @ereka_._._ pushed ourselves to the maximum beyond the realms of a defined genre.
