Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy @vidhi_india , IISER Tirupati @sholaskyislands , Nature Conservation Foundation @birdcountindia , Feather Library @feather_library , Peeyush Sekhsaria @enthunature and the Rainmatter Foundation @rainmatterorg are pleased to announce the First National Symposium on Bird-Window Collisions in India, to be held on 12th May 2026 at the India International Centre, New Delhi.
Bird-window collisions remain a significant yet under-recognised driver of avian mortality worldwide. With India situated along a critical migratory corridor used by millions of birds annually, rapid urbanisation and the changing built environment present a conservation challenge that has gone largely unaddressed.
This symposium aims to bring together leading experts from conservation, architecture, industry, policy, research, and media to deliberate on evidence-based mitigation strategies, innovative design solutions, and institutional pathways for addressing bird-window collisions across India’s urban landscapes.
