Lots of fun trying to not just take pics at a show, but to document it as a photographer with intent and a vision. Continuous progress to see how I can/should document this scene that I've been welcomed into by new friends around me. And a vision made by inspiring myself by talking to other photographers and artists. Allowing all of us to grow, get better, and not gatekeep 🤟🏽
From the 7th to the 16th of May, I was a foreigner, stuck in limbo, in my own home country. Wondering everyday if I would be allowed to continue my life in the US, or if I had to completely restart in exile within a country I hardly recognized. Positive, but not 100 percent sure, on the decision the US Consulate in Juarez would make in my case. It was one of the most stressful moments in my life. Others weren't as lucky as I was unfortunately and I hope everyone on DACA finds a solution as soon as possible.
Despite this, it didn't stop me from exploring and taking some photos. The Mexico filter is actually real believe it or not.
The first photo is of my family's place in Mexico City, where I stayed for two weeks, and so are the last two photos.

Watching @abyecta.banda play at @casacafeshows felt I was stepping back in time to a punk diy show in the 80s/90s. Their speedy sounds of anti capitalist guitar riffs made me feel like I was in a fast car with straight cut gears driving down a race track. Their incredible infectious singer, Carolina, entranced the audience to move around in the pit for their whole set. You can't beat the punk sounds coming from South America and I'm happy I got to see it in Chicago.

DAMAGED GOODS An Upcycled Fashion Event
Big shoutout @dzynbybridget and the team of @fiilthyglo_zine allowing me to enter this space and document their very first fashion show. This is very fast paced and getting the shot was not easy but I made work with my vision. I hope to do some more! I think it's sick I'm able to adapt to my environment even if it's my first time.
The hardcore community is everywhere and especially in Texas 🤠
This show was so sick I can't believe I saw these heavy hitters in Austin on top of everything else I did there. Shoutout @yesregal for making me pop out for this one
