For spring migration, we're honoring the diversity and expansiveness of birds and all nature, and using our events to support Galaei! Send a copy of your Galaei donation receipt to [email protected], and for every $5 we’ll enter you into a raffle for one of two $50 Bird Collective gift cards! Link to donate in our bio. Galaei is a Queer, Trans, Black, Brown, Indigenous, and People of Color (QTBIPOC) radical social justice organization serving the Latine/a/o/x community while widening their embrace to all QTBIPOC communities in Philadelphia. Founded in 1989 by David Acosta in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis, Galaei has provided 35 years of life-saving services, advocacy, and community care. As the largest Queer and Trans–operated organization north of Vine Street, they offer Youth Programming, Prevention and Education Programming, and Trans Services grounded in a syndemic approach to holistic care. Galaei mobilizes for access, opportunity, sexual empowerment, and economic justice while confronting systemic oppression and structural racism.

It was an unseasonably cool day on the Delaware River waterfront as the homies from @fbc.philly @phillyqueerbirders @disabilitypridepa @centeronline and @incolorbirdingclub got together to enjoy a solid spring hang. We were welcomed to Borski Park by the amazing people at @riverfrontnorth We had access to restrooms, wide open and flat trails, sweet river views, hot coffee and snacks, magazines, plenty of binoculars and scopes, smiles left and right, new friends, and some lovely spring birds. Highlights were a Bald Eagle flyover, and Osprey enjoying breakfast near us, and a White-eyed Vireo (photo by the incredible @birding_w_bernie ) Overall we had 38 species on the day but more importantly folks got to explore a new space and we saw new friendships being made. This gathering of inclusive Philly birding groups is certainly an annual tradition that signals Spring is here! Check out all@the groups above as we all have outings and events this Spring and Summer!! #Birding #Community #Friends Note: Alt Text have been added to each panel.
