hey friends, how are you going? this time of year can be rough and i’m sitting at home feeling a bit sad and lonely recovering from some icky medical stuff and i thought - maybe put something nice(ish) into the world. i’ve done up ten of these prints in spotlight’s finest cheapest frames and they’re free to anyone who needs their end-of-year to be a little brighter. it’s a photo of a toilet on naoshima. i guess even when things are in the toilet they can still be fun and beautiful? i have 10 to give out. message or comment below for your toilet snap. pickup near essendon airport or can drop northside 🤝

for some weird reason i wasn’t so pumped about visiting Naoshima but it was the highlight of the trip. didn’t get to experience too much of the triennial content but the permanent collection floored me all the same. essential if you’re into Turrell, Ando, Kusama or Sugimoto - they all loom large here on all corners of the island. chichu was a spiritual experience. cried a few times, thought about death a lot, left my phone in the chichu toilets after angering the spirit of james turrell, sent some big emotional voice notes, listened to a bit more big thief, good onsen and chicken dinner.

okay so here are some of the nice memories from japan. probably post 1 of 3? kyoto first. did a lot of walking here, a lot of thinking, listened to a lot of big thief. still had use of both arms. busy shrines, empty shrines, nice foods, okay coffee. was good to be back. onto naoshima next.

my little Brunswick Music Festival roundup (in vertical crops for the grid) - lucky enough to shoot 8-9 events this year including another trip down sydney rd, a couple of gilpin park sessions, a couple of new parks, a quick dip in the pool and some other brilliant alternative spaces. thanks to the team for having me @brunswickmusicfest / @deathproofpr , congrats to @shows_by_jet for continuing to evolve the program into something new and cool each year, thanks to @dcwarehouse for express posting me a working underwater camera housing after the first one failed, thanks to sun for cooking me. very cool that i get to keep shooting this for real after taking my camera down as a hobbyist in 2020.
