The next chapter begins.
We read every single submission. Every one. And honestly, it wasn't easy. The talent in those inboxes was something else.
But we made our picks. Six voices who are going to help us tell the stories that actually matter.

We've been building to this moment and we're not taking it lightly.
This is only the beginning. And we really mean that.
For @guzangs I had a great time talking to the amazing creative director and founder of @ohlanna.bu.zikora@ohla.chiqito about what it means to design for women who revolts, Igbo heritage, nostalgia and most importantly- building a fashion brand that would stand the test of time.
Before Ohlanna Bu Zikora came to be, the designer spent ten years working across other brands, gaining experience and creating a space for themselves. Even with such a towering expertise, Zikora doubted if a cultural epicenter like Lagos was ready for the kind of clothes they wanted to make.
But time did prove one thing right- years later, the designer will go on to dress Nollywood powerhouse like @ihuomalindaejiofor@uzoamakapower and @uzoamakaonuoha

I didn't realise how cluttered everything felt until I moved my African fashion pieces into one document and instantly saw new creative paths.
If you’re a creative juggling multiple identities, this is your reminder- clarity creates inspiration.

The 2026 Met Gala: “Fashion Is Art” basically moved like a living gallery.
From direct nods to iconic works to reimagined interpretations, guests pulled from paintings, sculpture, and culture to bring the theme to life.
Some stayed close to the source. Others flipped it into something entirely their own.
Bolaji Akinwande [@favourite_yoruba_boy ] picked 5 standout Black art-inspired looks that really held our attention.
