‎ewo'okobom!! 6016 Followers. . . 🤭☺☺☺☺. 6016 wonderful people! ‎It's taken sooo long to get here. I created this page circa 2016 and only fully transitioned it to showing content for OZ in 2021. I'm so grateful for 6016 actual human beings who love the work we do at OZ. 6016 people who followed not because we are trendy or popular but because THEY GET IT. ‎When I started Ohlanna bu zikora, I just wanted to show the incredible magic of pencil to paper (Pattern making). ‎I wanted to genuinely make clothes for the tiny percentage of women looking for Cerebral Elegance. . . . looking for something so completely different from the familiar. . . . ‎ ‎Today I share my CABIN BISCUITS (my comfort snack as a teenager) in celebration with you alll. Its my little reminder of the hard days of teaching myself to draft patterns on our peeling floors back in my little home in Ajaokuta, Kogi state. ‎ ‎Again, Thank you! ‎Thank you so much! ‎Daalu nu! ‎Unu mekalisi. ‎ ‎X ‎Zikora ‎(Utuobilibili 1 of Uwanile) 😉

osugokwe ‎I believe so much in the power of couture, especially in hopeless times like these. The intricacy of Couture craftsmanship could engage the mind, so that even in the midst of little, we can dream and create magic! ‎When I came up with the "Privé Artisanale" Term I wanted to find a way to approach couture from a place that's is mindful of the times and space we live in, using the unnasuming to create collections that are small, curated, personal, ingenious, Igbo, and Nigerian, yet extraordinary. I have always felt that couture is intrinsically African, and there is space for the nature of it to exist in different variations as seen in multiple cultures. ‎The entry guidelines for Haute couture can be intense and far reaching, especially for small houses like Ours, however the binding factor for couture craftsmanship is excellence and intricacy in technique. ‎ ‎Our new collection is almost here, and I cannot wait to tell you about "ISIDIORAMMA AKUNESIOBIKE" my Queen! ☺ ‎ ‎Daalu ‎X ‎Zikora

asa'Tay Ywande's ( @wandelag ) Igbeyawo look was our first attempt at Making an attire for a Yoruba Bride. I was quite hesitant at first, as traditional bridal Yoruba looks isn't typically our zone. But we like a challenge. ‎She specifically wanted our custom laser cut work in Akwa'oche (velvet) ‎"Isn't it too Igbo? " I asked ‎"I want your laser cut work Ohlanna " she replied. "You see that unusual raised effect of your lacer,? I want it". ‎ ‎The Result as you see, is a custom two piece Cotton x lurex Asooke combo with classic OZ style Iborun, all decorated and handstitched with laser cut work in Crushed Desert-sand coloured velvet. ‎All Symbolic motifs culled from our "OKILIKILI" series. ‎

The Nature of Us: What happens when a Victorian bridal silhouette finds itself in the quiet of the countryside? For this look, we reimagined classic Western bridal traditions through a multicultural lens. An ivory gown with soft pleats and cross-cross detailing unfolds into a multilayered ball silhouette, a subtle nod to Victorian romance. A French roll anchors the look in timeless elegance, while a rustic bouquet brings the spirit of the countryside into the moment It is a structured beauty softened by the earth around it Creative Direction & Bridal Styling: @theperlaco Photography: @lucasugoweddings Wedding Dress: @ohlanna.bu.zikora Beautician: @asaaofficial Hairstyling: @thehairsolution_ Event Planning: @eventswithdebby #thenatureofuseditorial #theperlacobrides
