Is bigger always better? When it comes to mountain bike wheels, the answer is usually yes. At least when it comes to kids bikes!
If you’ve ever watched a little kid go from a 20” wheel to 24”, then you already know just how big a difference even a couple inches can make in their ability to carry speed and roll over obstacles.
So while the bike industry sets its sights on the 32” (36”?!) wheels of the future, @hup_competition_cycling has brought the big wheel revolution all the way down to the smallest riders among us. Their new XC frame pairs 27.5” wheels with an XS geometry fit for riders as short as 4’1” (125cm). The result? A World Cup ready XC hardtail that fits in the palm of your hand… almost.
Is it necessary? No at all.
Is it fun? Yes.
Is it fast? Unbelievably so!
