🎉 TB to my last Decathlon competition where I added a National Champion gold medal 🥇in the Decathlon to my other event gold medals. 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 💪 CBS News was there doing a piece on 90 year old Flo Meiler who was braving the 98 degree heat and the 148 degree track heat along with the rest of us , to complete the 10 events breaking many world records along the way. 🙌 After becoming World Champion in the 400 in my 40’s I wanted a new challenge and took up combined events. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I was shocked to learn that women were only allowed to start pole vaulting in the Olympics in the year 2000 because they were thought to be too weak to do it 😡 and that they still don’t have the Decathlon for women in the elite competitions like the Olympics because our dainty selves can only handle 7 events not 10?? . I mean really!! ?? 💪🏆 Can’t wait to return to competing in the Decathlon. I find the training needed for it covers everything from neural firing to mobility and encourages healthy longevity. #wonderwoman #fastover40 #fitness #longevity #running
