🌱 Building thriving, equitable food systems that provide communities with nutrient-dense fresh produce and help local small-scale farms thrive. 📍MD
Thank you @arcolaes_csl for having us at your annual Community Fair!
We'll have our first Mobile Farm Market at Arcola on Thursday, June 4 and we'll be there the 1st and 3rd weeks of every month through November. See you again soon!
We were thrilled to host @mocofoodcouncil 's April Peer Learning Circle at our hub on April 24!
We shared what we do and how we can partner with other food assistance providers, gave a tour of the hub, and ended with a giant farm salad, made entirely of ingredients from our farm partners — @rollingridgefarmsmd (dill, beets, oregano, kale, Buttercrunch lettuce, Swiss chard, carrots, green onions),@lewis_orchards (apples), Blueberry Gardens (cilantro), and One Acre Farm (red-veined spinach, lettuce mix, radishes)!
Congrats @ckcfarming on their first Wednesday Loiederman MS Market of the season! It was great to share more about our work -- and share some delicious apples from one of our local farm partners, @lewis_orchards !
We'll have our first Mobile Farm Market at Loiederman on Wednesday, June 3. See you there!
Jenny is our fearless founder and leader!
After a career in banking and microfinance, she settled into Peas and Peace Farm in Poolesville. The COVID-19 pandemic spurred her to think about ways we can feed our neighbors facing food insecurity while also supporting our local small farms — leading her to found CFS!
CFS has since grown to 9 mobile farm markets, partnering with 19 MCPS schools and 4 health clinics to bring nutrient-dense, locally grown fresh produce to over 1,000 families facing food insecurity.
Our dual mission of feeding families nutritious produce AND supporting local produce farmers helps connect the dots that are essential to a resilient local food system and results in financial, health, and social benefits for everyone in the community. ♻️
When chatting with some of our farm partners now in the height of the spring planting season 🌱, they shared with us how much CFS has positively impacted their farms. We are honored to do this work alongside them, providing our communities with equitable access to high quality, locally grown, fresh produce.

ICYMI, we published our 2025 Impact Report last week 🎉
We grew significantly in 2025, from doubling our mobile farm markets 🛒 and buying our own refrigerated truck 🚚 to streamlining inventory management 📊 and moving into a 3,000 square foot warehouse 🏢. These big moves prepared us well to grow even more in 2026!

This Earth Month, we’re celebrating the farmers who are stewarding their land to nourish our communities 🌱
Across our region, local farms are embracing regenerative agriculture—practices that restore soil health, increase biodiversity, capture carbon, and protect our waterways. From reducing tillage and cover cropping to composting and crop rotation, our farm partners are demonstrating how they are a critical part of climate resilience. 🌍
