The first two photos were taken by Richard Termine at the 2025 National Puppetry Conference where I had the privilege to study with Alice Gottschalk (big big big heart emoji).
Much is being developed. The last three photos are from the seedlings of a collaboration with @michalnissimoff and @shadow_priestess_arah .
More soon
These are some of the 3/4" angle iron pieces at different stages.
The song is Michal's (check her out @michalnissimoff ). More later.
AND the last two photos are of my air hammer. It needs a new home and while I could store it somewhere for a year or more, I'd be happier if it was in use. COULD BE YOURS - For cheaper than you think. Think about it.
Alas, hello Instagram.
This is a follow up from the last post. It's the 3D model of the 26 ft commission with the 3/4" pieces of forged angle iron.
Swipe for a video.
Unfortunately this idea got shot down. Fortunately, the commission is still happening, but it will be a third of the size. See the other post for the angle iron pieces that have been forged this far.
"The New Golem" is a meditation on Violence and shapeshifting. It is a retelling of the story of the Golem with a reimagined ending wherein the Golem, following deactivation, wakes up and must process the destruction and devastation that it has caused.
Please join us in the scrapyard on Friday, August 9th.

When I started this residency at Mac Scrap in early June I did not think that it would culminate in a performance. Lol and behold, I'm excited to share this collaboration with the community of Rutland, VT and those that will make the trek to the Scrap Yard.
The gates to the yard will open at 6pm on Friday, August 9th at which point those attending the ballet at Mac Scrap will have the opportunity to view the sculptures and the stage up close.
The performance will begin at 6:45pm.
We will be asking for donations at the door. 100% of the donations will go to the Marble Valley Dance Collective and are greatly appreciated. Not only do they perform as a collective, but they also teach classes. Check them out!

@macsteelvt likes surprises and secrets. It's endearing. I will say he's given me the green light to build a world for this upcoming performance that will take place in the steel yard.
On August 9th in collaboration with the Marble Valley Dance Collective (@mvdc.vt ), the Rutland Jewish Center and Mac's Equipment and Steel (@macsteelvt ) I will have the privilege of bringing to stage "The New Golem" - a Steel Puppet Ballet in Three Acts".
It is a retelling of the Golem that focuses on Violence, loss, rigidity, shapeshifting, grace and sensitivity.
