I’m Fair(ly) happy to be here
That’s an understatement because I’m obsessed with @fairislebrewing . Like if you visit Seattle and don’t go here, you did Seattle wrong. I stand by this. They even allow kids now, so no excuses.
It was also my second year in a row visiting here on Valentine’s Day. Yep, I’m that behind on posting!
The best part though was it meant I was there only a little after their anniversary and caught some of their anniversary beers on draft.
The highlights of this visit:
🍺 Forrest - an oak-aged farmhouse ale blended from 4 barrels with the bulk of it being a saison brewed using an experimental hop called Pink. The result is bright and hoppy with evidence of the oak.
🍺 Pils - a Czech inspired pilsner using Saaz that was perfectly crisp and biscuity. I typically stick to Fair Isle’s saisons, but loved this beer too. I also tried their first IPA, which was good, but this was better.
🍺 Eldon (Batch 2) - a blend of their oak-aged ales that serve as the base of some of my favorite Fair Isle’s beers, which was very fun to try. It’s delicate and I tasted quite a bit of lemon, so I can see how it really makes for a great base for fruit additions.
Aside from the beer, I had such a fun visit overall. I was sitting behind a divorce party, so that’s was interesting to be a fly on the wall for you could say.

What breweries will you never skip when you’re in their city?
SALSA VERDE SHRIMP NACHOS: Filthy, trashy, oh so tasty. Perfect for the 5th of May.
Shrimp marinated in a salsa verde, grilled on the flat top, smothered with the OG green chile queso from our early days. Some frijoles de olla and salsa de aguacate to finish. Trashy food, the La Marea way. Come and get em.

We are super excited to host Dave from @foxfarmbeer for Ferry & Friends. Inviting Fox Farm Brewery was a no-brainer when we started curating the lineup for our lager and saison fest. They share our passion for these classic styles, brewing beers that prioritize nuance and balance while focusing on using the best of their local agriculture. This philosophy that perfectly mirrors what we try to do at Fair Isle.
Fox Farm’s beer rarely (if ever) makes it out to the West Coast, so getting Dave and the crew out to Seattle is a real treat for us. Besides being great people, their dedication to traditional techniques, high quality ingredients, and patient conditioning show exactly why these beer styles deserve to be celebrated. We couldn’t be more honored to have them pour alongside us. Under 35 tickets left for the festival. Grab one today to enjoy these gems. #ferryfriends #lagersonthelake #saisonsatsunset

We’re bringing the smoke, spice and munchies next week for 4/20 at Fair Isle 💨 The Smoke Sesh.
All good vibes with this one.Starting at 3PM, we’ll be pouring 2 special draft only saisons for this event.
🔵Baja Blast
🟠Hot Cheetos (yes, we’re getting weird)
Plus a special tapping Waits, our smoked saison collab with @bizarrebrewing
Baja Blast: Light it up & take a hit of this tropical treat featuring pineapple, mango and orange bolstered by a zippy lime backbone. A dash of blue spirulina (a naturally occuring azure-tinted algae) provides the familiar, classic turquoise hue. Inspired by our favorite cottonmouth-busting libation, best enjoyed alongside ample fried tex-mex morsels.
Hot Cheeto: Puff puff pass this spicy, savory, firey treat for the senses. A healthy dose of serranos and habeneros bring the heat in this whimsical treat while a backdrop of onion, garlic, paprika and lime round out its familiar flavor profile. A touch of beetroot powder lends the beer an unmistakable red hue. Inspired by a gas station staple; a chip oft-considered the king of all munchies.
@thesandwichsaga.sea will be here serving smoked meat sandwiches and snacky specials made for the occasion.
Come hang and enjoy a very smoky Monday with us.
