PHANTOM- high flex Dark days are over The justification for black suits is better heat absorption and retention but is that the real reason? Or is it that when neoprene is made from petroleum based chemicals the result is black. Then you can use black glue, black external layer and black thread and not be as careful. So it’s easy and faster to make. Our suits are from limestone rock to get the base chemicals. The big advantage is smaller more intact bubbles which have better flex, better thermal and faster drying. It’s still black but the outer layer is white which is printed on. So more care is needed to construct the suit. Those factors mean a longer lasting suit. One of our testers (once or twice a day surfer) is extremely hard on suits and wore one out in 12 months. We were disappointed until he said his XXXXX big name brand only last him 6. His usage is double or triple the average surfer.
