FACTION

Faction is a party and label, a self-organised community of DJs and producers passionately committed to sonic exploration and collective momentum, a platform for emerging artists, reflecting the dynamic pulse of techno and creating space for new, transformative energy. On June 13, Faction takes over Horoom in collaboration with Defragged Sessions, an Istanbul-based underground party series founded in 2021, and will be represented by core members and founders: Gwän, whose musical identity stands at the intersection of hypnotic techno, deep atmospheric tension, and groove-focused movement. Georgian DJ and producer 2bit2bi blends raw and trippy soundscapes, with releases on labels such as Different Sound, Influenced Records, 0136, and NYXII. Brazil-born, Portugal-based Saag crafts experiences that originate in vinyl and push to the advanced edges of contemporary techno; he is a DJ and producer with an expressive vision that has led him to join the acclaimed Modwerks label, helmed by Ø [Phase], and the Porto party series, K Koletivo. Georgia-based undrtow is deeply rooted in Istanbul's underground scene. In addition to his role as a booking manager for various collectives, he founded Defragged Sessions in 2021, hosting numerous parties in his home city. Ozan, a Turkish-born, Helsinki-based queer DJ known for his daring sound explorations, has curated Defragged Sessions and organized Pearl nights at Club Kaiku Helsinki as a resident

Our 2-year anniversary at Bassiani / Horoom was a good reminder of why we started Faction. We built this as a space to connect through music, shared energy, and collective experience. Seeing the dancefloor come alive with that spirit, familiar faces and new connections meant everything. Thank you to everyone who showed up. For the collective’s two-year anniversary club night, its founding trio, Uväll, Gwän, and Script, will take the decks together. Joining them is Nasi, a multi-instrumentalist, composer, improviser, percussionist and cellist, and a member of Metastasis, which has just debuted at Zenaari Records. She also collaborates with Alexander Khokhiashvili as the Nasi & Alexander duo; both are members of the hip-hop, jazz, funk, and soul-influenced collective MokuMoku. Comethisfar, a vinyl purist and techno voyager from Tbilisi, exploring forgotten sonic frontiers and crafting interpretations that bridge past and present eras, going back-to-back with Highlimiter, known for his powerful, fast-paced, groove-driven techno and releases on Fabric, KYSH, Drawner, Duplicity, Anima, Your Character, Planetaria Soundsystem, Ghetthogether, Heist Mode, and Different Sound.

FACTION, a platform dedicated to showcasing the talents of the techno community, returns to Horoom on October 25 with Paula Koski, founder of the INTERLINK party series and a Tresor resident, creating a sonic space between mental and groovy techno. Joining her are Alexander, an electronic music composer, audio engineer, and DJ, the drummer for the fusion band Moku Moku, a founding member of the collective Metastasis; and one-half of the duo NASI & ALEXANDER. Architect, known for raw core of techno, deep textures, and powerful basslines, will go back-to-back with Pierce, rooted in Tbilisi’s rich cultural backdrop, with a solid discography spanning WSNWG – Back To Zero, Kysh, Vault Records, Float Records, PRX, Obskura, Solid Tracks, and more. His most recent work, Third Eye on Human Dynamics, is a collaboration with Uväll. STAOX, the alias of Giorgi Orbeladze, a producer and live performer from Batumi, will deliver his debut live set.

FACTION is a party series initiated by a new wave of techno DJs and producers, a self-organised, open community rooted in sonic exploration and collective momentum, a platform for emerging artists, aiming to reflect the dynamic pulse of techno and create space for new, transformative energy. FACTION joins forces with Bassiani/Horoom on July 19 for their first outing at the club, a carefully curated night rooted in forward-thinking techno and featuring Windfuhr, a Berlin-based DJ and resident at Eerste Communie, whose sets are deeply rooted in his Guadeloupean heritage. Central to his artist identity is Gwo Ka - Creole for “big drum" - a practice where drummers and dancers merge in an endless interplay of rhythm and dance, creating a communal experience; AMARES, the artistic project of Mariam Kajaia, inspired by the transcendent motion of techno, weaving together elements of psychedelic, tribal, and trance to construct her personal sonic signature. Alongside them will perform Faction's core figures: Script, known for his distinctive groove, hypnotic flow, and fast-paced tempo, with releases on BCCO, Different Sound, and Calosc. Uväll is one of the defining voices in Tbilisi's modern techno movement, a DJ, producer, and resident of Anima, renowned for his deep, high-pressure sound. His productions have been released on respected labels such as Semantica, Hayes, WSNWG, FLOAT, INGUMA, OECUS, and most recently, DIG Curated, where his 2025 release DIG-C003 solidified his reputation. One of his standout EPs for WSNWG was conceived during a week-long jam session with label head Rødhåd at the studio in Berlin.

FACTION introduces its label with a distinct four-track compilation that reflects the spectrum of its sound and vision. Pierce opens the release with a tightly-coiled weapon, clean, metallic, and surgically arranged for maximum drive. Uväll follows with a track that keeps the momentum but adds a sense of motion and complexity. Architect shifts the mood with a more spacious construction, subtle details float across a rolling low-end. Gwän closes the release with a refined cut that leans into atmosphere, soft layers and fluid movement.
