Absence. Children notice who’s in the stands, who’s at the dinner table, and who isn’t there. The impact of violence and mass incarceration is not only felt by individuals, but by families and entire communities carrying the weight of what’s missing.

Consistency. Sometimes love looks like being the one your child can count on day after day. A ride home from school. A familiar face at pickup. A routine that tells a child, I can rely on you.
In the face of violence and mass incarceration, consistency can create stability, strengthen bonds, and help sustain families.
Join us at our 2026 Fatherhood Symposium as we explore how violence and mass incarceration impact fatherhood, families, and communities, while lifting up what it means for fathers to keep showing up consistently.

Presence. Sometimes love looks like applause from the audience, a familiar face in the crowd, and a child knowing their dad showed up. Showing up matters because those moments stay with our children long after the recital ends.
Join us at our 2026 Fatherhood Symposium as we explore how violence and mass incarceration shape fatherhood, families, and communities, while lifting up the power of fathers showing up through it all.

Cohort 17, Week Two 💙
This past weekend, fathers and their children painted pillowcases together. It was a simple activity that gave them time to sit, talk, and create something side by side.
Activities like this go beyond the moment. They leave something tangible to hold onto, a reminder of time spent together and memories being built.
We are excited to see fathers and children in Cohort 17 continue building their bond!!
Cohort 17, Week One 🧡
This past weekend, fathers and their children kicked off the newest cohort with a game designed to help them learn more about each other. There were laughs, shared stories, and small moments that helped bring them closer.
It was a reminder that connection does not have to be complicated. Sometimes it is as simple as asking questions, listening, and being present with one another.
We are excited for what is ahead for Cohort 17. This is just the beginning. ✨
Today, the F.A.C.T. Experience family had our Day of Service, a day dedicated to giving back to our community. 🤍
This year, we spent the day at Maplewood Nursing & Rehabilitation, creating artwork with the residents, sharing laughs, conversation, and moments of connection. We also took time to share things we’re thankful for — most importantly LIFE!
Service, love, and community are at the heart of this day. We’re grateful to be able to show up and pour into others. ✨
And that’s a FACT.
Tru from Cohort 16 performing his spoken word on fatherhood and presence 🎤 The video moves between his words and moments from the Cohort 16 graduation 🎓 It reflects the reality that some fathers need to do better, while others are actively showing up for their children despite incarceration.
Through FACT, fathers and children are given space to reconnect, grow, and redefine what presence looks like 🖤
Congratulations to Cohort 16 for the work you’ve done and the continued commitment of fathers, mothers, and children and your family 🙌🏾 And that’s a FACT.
#FactExperience had an interview with Loraine Ballard Morrill, at #iHeartMediaStudio. #Cohort16 participants, Joi & son Tru and Elizabeth & daughter Ariyel, came through with great insight and feedback for Fact.
