First prize competition Scenography for the preservation and enhancement of the site and the vestiges of the Roman amphitheatre in Nyon. Our proposal offers a sensitive and contemporary interpretation of the archaeological site, in the form of tangible, low-tech and reversible elements that help visitors understand the scale and historical richness of the amphitheatre and can be adapted to accommodate potential future archeological discoveries. Common curves - 2024 Jug, cups One year ago, I spent few weeks in Odate (Akita prefecture, Japan). I had the opportunity to collaborate with Shunji Kurimori, an amazing craftsmen. We explored together the Magewappa (Japanese wood bending know-how) with both Swiss and Japanese wood. Pralet bench, 2022 Material, Spruce or Douglas Fir . Made of wooden offcuts from the local sawmill. Designed in the mindset “nothing is lost, everything is used”. The conical crossbar is at the core of the design. This geometry refers to the rift splitting technique practised in the region to cut resonance wood used by violin maker. Vallée de Joux Visitor Center - 2024 A tourist office is the visiting card and the gateway to a region for visitors. The first impression must immerse people in the atmosphere of the place, its DNA. This space also responds to the needs of the local population. This meeting place is able to offer certain services (postal service, pop-up store) by incorporating a high degree of flexibility into the layout of the space. The building also includes offices for staff and a large conference room. The project proposes to highlight the themes specific to the site. References to the region are subtly reflected in the materials, shapes and furniture. The non-invasive approach involves leaving the building’s load-bearing structure and facade untouched. The furnishings are designed to be light, mobile and completely detached from the walls and ceilings. The space can be reconfigured as required.
