This one was impressive. Customer is pushing the limits because he has a Fab9 Scalpel 2.4L engine on deck! 👀 Currently running a tweaked version of our GT Turbo kit, our Haltech Nexus S2 PNP system, and a COMPLETELY stock NC1 2.0 engine. We wrapped up another clean calibration on a @Haltech powered setup this week and continue to be impressed with how robust the platform is becoming for these cars. Our complete Plug & Play package makes the transition straightforward and the built-in wideband controller on the Nexus series really makes this an “easy button” solution for serious street and track builds alike. One of the biggest advantages on this chassis is resolving the OE limitations with the factory ECU that are becoming more and more apparent as we increase power. Another is just the Haltech ecosystem and it’s expandability. From CAN keypads and steering wheel controls to fully configurable digital dash displays, the system grows with your build. Getting this 2.5 swap dialed in the right way. Outfitted with the Fab9 Elite Manifold, Bosch 68mm Throttle Body, Fab9 Stage 2 “Thumper” Camshafts, Fluidampr harmonic balancer, and a RoadsterSport header. This setup is built for a strong, responsive powerband. Next up is dyno calibration on VersaTune to bring it all together and extract the full potential. Sometimes you can’t trust these OL/CL era ECU’s. When in doubt, @link_ecu is here with some audible evidence. This NC is what we’d call the full package. Clean, balanced, and built with intent from front to back. Under the hood it’s running our GT Turbo System on a fully built 2.0L — forged internals, cams, and a setup that just works together the way it should. Dialed in on the dyno at a smooth, repeatable 280whp… with plenty left on the table. That’s the sweet spot — where power, response, and reliability all meet. No shortcuts. No gimmicks. There’s something different about the era in your life where a car can be so real and such a passion project. Not just the machine—but the version of you that existed when it mattered most. This 2001 NB Miata has been through more than most people will ever understand. Half a dozen serious builds. Countless late nights. Wins, failures, lessons, product development… all stacked into one chassis. Back then, I had a different kind of energy. If I blew it up on a Friday, it was just part of the plan—I’d have another motor in, calibrated, and be back out roll racing on Woodward avenue by the next Friday like nothing happened. No hesitation. No excuses. This car was there at the beginning of Fab9. A lot of the credibility we built early on came from this platform. It proved what we could do. But it also marked the point where things started to stretch thin—wearing every hat, taking on everything, pushing harder than was sustainable. And then… it just stopped. A relatively simple differential failure while roll racing a boosted C6 Z06. We pushed it back into the shop and I didn’t touch it again for over 10 years. Life moved. Business grew. Priorities shifted. But some things never really leave you. Now the chassis is fully restored. Sitting there, quiet—but ready. Just waiting on me to put the power plant back together. I’m hoping this is the spark to bring it back to life. Not just the car—but a piece of what it meant. Let’s see if we can finish what we started.
